Thanks for the replies! By linking them together using keyword, by that I mean showing the link on front page, wouldn't that help things out a bit?
There is no penalisation like people keep saying. Think about it, it goes on all the time. The only thing to consider is the lack of link juice
as you only have a few, you're so far off the radar you're probably safe. They prefer to hunt down the 'big' offenders - link farms, spam networks of thousands of domains, that kind of thing.
There are several guys out there who own the first place in google serp for very competitive 2 word terms with massive crosslinking from different ip's but same registrant. At this moment google seems to love it.
I would link together the ones that are relevant. It seems that links from related sites tend to weigh more than unrelated ones. Because there is the possibility for Google to view linking the sites together as black hat, but also the possibility of a big payoff in terms of SERP, you should just link the ones that are actually related.
I have a few related sites that I have considered linking together. They are on the same c-class but they are related to each other. I think the best way to link them is to consider what will drive targeted traffic each way and how it will benefit users of your site first before any seo benefit.
i would say you there is no kind of problem in cross linking the websites...... the other thing is that concerning SEO there is no matter of servers or hosting...but remember that you need to link sites which are in same niche market...
on my website armastevs.com I have linked 8 other flash game websites on it and have had nothing but greatness from doing this. Its kinda like my own personal traffic exchange system.
I see so many websites do this that I think it is almost an ego thing. Overall my recommendation would be not to do it. You run the risk of being perceived as a (albeit it 'mini') link farm. If you combine your cross site linking (most people seem to do it with site wide footer links) with links from paid link networks I think you run a real risk of being perceived as part of that low trust network which could have a very bad effect on your rankings.
If all your sites has the same niche then it is advisable otherwise you are just going to create your own headache.
linking sites that are relevant and related will help get additional visitors to those other sites that are not ranking, do not cross link each page to every other page as you will trigger the google spam site filter. using different IP addresses is not as important as it was several years ago.. take it slowly and link one page at a time to check the results.
Interlinking all the sites you own is a great idea if they are all related, on different servers and obtain links from different sites. They can really help each other out. But that being said, 1 could mess it up for the rest of them as well.
If your 10 sites are related to each other, then by all means link them. But it's always better to link your sites if they're on different IPs. Why not create blog sites from blogger.com or wordpress.com and then link them to your sites.
