Who can suggest a good article on a professional optimization for current algorithm of Yahoo? All the materials seem outdated on the web...

Another question. What is a current keyword density ratio for Yahoo in order to rank #1 for a two word keyword?

    Thanks!

You don't get #1 rankings just by having the right keyword density. You need quality backlinks with good link anchor text. Don't bother obsessing over keyword density as it is pointless. Write your content for your visitors.

Forget about keyword density its a red herring, used by people who aint got a clue what they are doing, write your content for humans as naturally as you can while staying on subject, and it will all come together on its own !

Density is basically bullshit in my opinion, as long as your keyword is in the title, an h1 tag, and somewhere in your article a few times, your good to go, after that you just need back links.

I think keyword density is more often used to weed out spammers than it is to rank websites higher. As long as you stay under 8 - 10% you should be able to avoid any filters. I just don't think the keyword density helps your ranking much at all. adobe.com is still holding down the #1 spot for 'click here' with a 0% keyword density.

do u honestly think search engines dont sell some keywords?

i agree though, it isnt the most important piece, but u should keep a high density if u have lower backlink numbers from less popular sites.

No I don't think search engines have the need to sell any keywords. They make enough money from PPC and other sources. By selling keywords they would greatly tarnish their reputation and risk hurting their business for the long term. Some seo companies claim to have special relationships with the search engines and claim to have the ability to sell top rankings. These claims are completely false though.

I don't recommend having a high keyword density just because you don't have good enough links. This will not help you. You would just be providing poor content for your visitors and making your website look spammy to the search engines. You want to earn Google's trust.

i completely disagree. Will density get u into the top 5 Google listings? no.. not at all. I have done my own research and on several different keywords and phrases have shown that a website with low backlinks, but a decent density for the phrase will get into the bottom of page one or on page two.

As far as your assumption that keyword density = spam I highly disagree. Its the percentage of times that word shows up in all content. If you own a site about vacum cleaners and your domain is 'allaboutvacums.com' you would have a better chance at using the word 'vacums' than the phrase 'vacum cleaners'

its all about using the right word or words when u are talking about a subject to tell the search engines that this is what you are relevant for.

Now of course idiots out there will always try to spam listings, just like they try to spam comments, facebook, myspace, email addresses and even this very forum. That doesnt mean that using the correct language is spam.
