How do you do SEO for images?
(How do you have images show up in first page of image search results)?

    Are there separate SEO strategies?

    Thanks!

Always name the image with the keyword you want it to rank for. Additionally, right click the image, select Properties and go to the Summary tab. Fill all the required fields.

Google doesn't read the images, so to let Google knows about the images, there is a tag "alt" alternative text, that is used to fill related keywords while doing SEO..:)

rename the images with keyword or related name not '566_ty7.jpg' or something else. Allow the google to search the images from google.com/webmasters account. Set the permission of images directory for bot accessible.

Put your target keyword as a name of the image.

Do not forget to give the alt name for every images.

    Surely it will work.........:)

Actually,Google uses the text around the images as much as it does the alt tag, so make sure that there's a caption above or below the picture that contains a keyword.

Google only reads HTML tags in a webpage, so to let Google knows about the images, the html has a tag "alt" alternative text, that is used to fill related keywords while doing SEO........

Use alt tags when implementing pictures. It will be like <img src="blah.jpg" alt="keyword_here_please_now/>. Thats how you should do it, it will get you're pictures better ranked in Google Images.
