What really is the best free marketing for getting people to buy your digital product

I'm going to be starting my first digital product site real soon and was wondering what is the best free or cheap way to really market it to people that want to buy a digital product (the product being games)?

(Also I don't wanna start a new topic for this but is it best to have PRODUCT.site.com or site.com/PRODUCT seo wise...*I will be putting each product on its own pages*?)

Start buy writing some articles and submitting to artile directories. This will help increase your serps and backlinks.

Comment on blogs related to your product.

Regiser with forums related to your product as well.

    and go with PRODUCT.com

Well, I think Grouse gave you some good ideas, but it really depends on
    what you mean by "best"?

    How many products?

Folders would be easier for you to maintain, imo.

Also, remember that subdomains are DIFFERENT domains with their own DNS entries. Each
subdomain is effectively a different website. Do you really want each product on it's own site?

Well seo wise would it be best to use subdomains or is SITE.COM/product just as good?
And if I use SITE.COM/product would it be better to do say the product is "mouth wash" SITE.COM/mouthwash or SITE.COM/mouth-wash ?
(I to make each game have its own page type feel, but it will be a website type design with links at the top and a banner if you get me.)

Also be sure you add your product to affiliate networks so you can get affiliates to promote whatever your selling :)

Use a different domain for each product like someone already said. Why the obsession with sub-folders and sub-domains?

The site will be more or less a "hub"/company feel.
