How I generated 156 Unique Hits when I was getting 3-10 Unique Hits before!

I am sure all of you wonder how you can get a ton more traffic to your site. There are plenty ways to do this and some of them work while others don't work at all. Through travel and error I have found two great ways to generate over 100 Unique Hits a day to my website (I realize this isn't huge traffic but for a startup website this is a lot of traffic).

    StumpleUpon
I am sure most of you have heard of this site before. Basically this site is a social bookmarketing site and how it works is people see the site using the toolbar and click that they like it. When a whole bunch of people click that they like it it can get a lot of traffic. All of a sudden on one particular day I got a huge amount of traffic and was very pleased by the result. It created a decent earnings with Adsense and it got me more traffic later on as well!

Traffic based on popular topics from Google Trends
If you haven't used Google Trends before I would highly recommend you check it out. Go to Google and search for Google trends. It gives you all the hottest topics at the moment in the Google search engine. You can also get a full list by clicking on the link. So how do I generate traffic with this? Well what I do is search for topics that relate to my website and are getting a lot of traffic and I write about it and post it on my website. As long as your website indexes the page quickly and gets in Google's search engine you can benefit on this traffic. I've done this time and time again and get spikes in my traffic by doing this.

Try these two steps for yourself and see how much traffic you can generate to your website!

Yup for sure! I think if you constantly write topics that people are interested in reading about you can get a ton of daily traffic to your blog!

Good fundamental tricks. Google trends works well, there is also a Yahoo trends too so don't forget to keep an eye on that as they hold onto their meager part of the market share. Any social bookmarking is a + to your traffic, try to integrate it into your blog so users can stumble and bookmark it as well

    THose are two good techniques.
SU is good for traffic but it mainly provides temporary traffic.
Also, it's a good idea to use Google trends sometimes but if you overdo it then you are going to have a useless blog about anything and everything.

Yes Google trend is only for USA. For other countries, check Yahoo trend.

one thing i've noticed with google trends is to look at mid-low end trends (not #1-50, but focus of 51-100). Many times, you are getting an insight of what is about to happen. I notice you'll have a better chance of being found SEO wise
