Should I update to CS4 and why?

    Hi everyone,

I am considering upgrading to CS4 and was wondering on what other people thought the main differences in practical day to day usage? Is it worth upgrading, will it enhance my workflow/make me a better designer etc?

Is there much difference and will I need to spend a lot of time updating my skills from CS3?

I have a busy studio and really don't want much down time, so would appreciate any opinions, thoughts, ramblings about the taking this step. Oh and is subscription worth it?

Thanks for any replies in advance.

Do you work with video often? If so, I've heard CS4 has some very cool video compression tools pertaining particularly to Flash videos.

It depends of what CS3 software you always use. I only use CS2 photoshop and illustrator, and don't have any plan to upgrade them in near future although the newer version more powerful than CS2. Software only tools and skill is more important in design, as long as I can use them for my works than it's not necessary to upgrade them.

    Why...
Do you live near a large bookstore?
Take a look at CS4 Complete For Dummies: 8 Books In One (or very similar title)
I don't like paying for frequent upgrades, however the book mentioned above will quickly tell you Adobe just came out with another big winner.

    Why??

    To many to list here.
Every program has major new features, and they also work together better than ever.

ps. I do not work for, or sell Adobe products.
Job recruiters for Adobe are welcome to PM me anytime. :)

CS4 comes with new features like round border, etc. My advice is, if you website is working properly now, and you happy with it, just keep it with CSS3.If you plan to build new website, you can think to use CSS4 :)
