I found the submitting fee of below site is http://www.alivedirectory.com Featured Links $74.95 Regular Links $34.95 Regular with Reciprocal $29.95 But the pr of this site is only 4. So why is the submitting price so high?
Well, his directory is only PR4 on the homepage because the last PR update did not update rankings for home pages (nobody knows why). Internal PR is quite nice though and will undoubtedly get higher. Plus, the owner works very hard promoting this site. Spending 35 dollars for a permanent link on this site seems quite reasonable to me.
Agreed. I wouldnt doubt to see that PR jump pretty high next update. He does work very hard on it and I think that price is fair.
Most submissions come from his credibilty. They know he promotes is directory very well and are making a valueable investment.
,You are the owner of this directory. It's a great directory. After the earning of my directory up to $50,I will buy a Featured Link.
I think the owner does very well at promoting this directory - think of how many other directories you've visited and seen Alive Directory as a Featured Listing, or as a Partner Listing on the home page or site wide. Look around the forum at the signatures here - quite a few with the directory link in them. If you really feel that the home page is only a PR4, you should take a closer look. Check how many backlinks there are in the various search engines, check the PR of the internal pages. I doubt a site with internal pages of PR5 would have PR4 on the index page. This was probably the result of the latest 4/4 PR update where Google did not update pages with existing PR, just the pages previously without. With the amount of promotion being done on an ongoing basis, I think the prices for a permanent listing are quite justified. I just bought 4 or 5 listings (including a Featured Listing) within the last 10 days.
hotpot is not the owner, mystikmedia is. Mystikmedia spends a lot of effort and money to promote his sites and it probably is a good idea to get listed before the price goes up any more with future updates.
I see. Both guru and roman's Signature have Alive Web Directory. Another question, would you think the prices of a directory is based on PR value? Thank you
No, if you are buying the link for PR then future PR must be considered as well and I am quite sure Alive Directory will achieve high PR.
His question was would you think it is based on PR. Everythign you said is basically PR so his statement is correct he said based on PR not current pr. Just pointing that out.
It's an easy analogy for me about price of directories in a case like this ... A Ford Escort is a decent car and will get me where I need to go, but its value over time will decline, be less reliable, and not last too many years. On the other hand, if I can afford the Volvo, the longterm benefit, or ROI if you will, will serve me better in the long run, hands down stacked up next to the Ford ... it's worth the investment.
How many directories do you know that are basically just months old that hold a home page PR4? How many directories can you show me with inner pages that are PR5? How many directories with sub/sub cat pages can you show me that have a PR5? Need an example? http://www.alivedirectory.com/Computer/Software/ Take a closer look at the inside of the book before you say the cover doesn't justify the price
I have a couple sites in Alive. I ponied up $25 back then when he was pr0 and I must say that I do not have any regrets.
I'm pretty new (and flogging my own directory), but I have to admit that everywhere I looked I saw the Alive Directory promoted. It was a kick in the pants... in a good way!
yeap...alivedirecroty rules, he has a sitewide link on my site too..and i think a feature one also ..saw him on many sites and directorys..
Alive directory will hit PR7 no worries next update. Actually, probably PR8. I wouldnt question the prices of any of Mysticmedias directories, they're all definately worth the bucks.
