It's not a stupid thing I say .. It's just that you can't go on and explain the same thing, three times, in the same thread.

    3 times x 10 threads per day x 30 days x 12 months = your better invested time.

You're probably right. I've run into the same problem in the DMOZ threads. The problem is, people just aren't listening.

Actually, to be fair, he can say whatever he likes. If it makes him happy, who are we to judge, ya know? I do stupider stuff than that on a regular basis I'm sure.

At least he's not trying to say that visible PR is worthless, and then repeating that nonsense in every PR thread that pops up. I know others who do that religiously.

thanks for the info.... they are from sites that do not sell links so I think we are OK on that end.... I just want to get the PR up ASAP as it will effect some of the SEO we will do with them...

Yeah, I'm in the same boat... I'm actually hoping that the update holds off long enough that what I did in the past 6 weeks gets counted. :)

Actually, I'm not greedy. I'd be just as happy with consecutive updates 30 days apart. :)

That is true. You were talking to him. In this thread. On a message board. A message board that's open to anyone. What's more, although you were pointing the comments at him, I'm pretty sure that the "you" in the sentence could have easily been changed to "one", as in
"It's just that you can't go on and explain the same thing"
could just as easily be read as:
"It's just that one can't go on and explain the same thing"
unless you were actually saying that the behavior you were saying was pointless was, in fact, only pointless if it came from him?

Having someone join in a conversation, or make comments in general, in a public forum, is not the same thing as having someone join in a conversation uninvited at a party... different social rules apply. If you truly don't want feedback from others, then honestly, you should stick to PM's.

Also, one of the people he was directing his comments at when you were telling him to shut up was in fact, me. :)

That being said, sorry, wasn't trying to butt in, my comment was more of a general comment on the subject and said in passing, rather than something meant to ruffle feathers.
