I happened to be doing a search on Google when this happened this morning, and the search results were anywhere from startling at first, to damn hilarious.

Every site came up with a result of 'this site may harm your computer'.

Google has an entry on it in their blog: http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2009/01/this-site-may-harm-your-computer-on.html

Google has been making a lot of mistakes this past month; this one rates as embarrassing.

I was actually quite shocked when I first saw it as I was doing a keyword search to get serps on my site...when I saw that my site 'may harm your computer'.

When I noticed that every search returned the same warning for every site, it became apparent it was a goof.

I wonder if any of the bigger sites may have lost traffic, or even potential new visitors, due to that?

There's a thread on this already, here: [thread]1211791[/thread]

But it is quite embarrassing for them... Good thing they fixed it rather quickly though.

I guess you're right, but it could have been much worse.

Either way, it wasn't good -- it is embarrassing.
