What are the top tips for white hat one way link building for the big "G" , ones that will last the long haul for long term growth of a site.... No "great content" or "link baiting" as I am well aware that is #1 for the long term... I just think blog commenting is lame and so are forum posts, three way linking and so on... How can you get solid respected 1 way links into your pages without being spammy and lame. TIA P.S. I am willing to write original content for links
Doing SEO is a continuous process. After you have done all SEO process to build a well ranking site you have to maintain and repeat the process again and again.
Matt Cutts disagrees with the Article Directory Submission as being the best form of SEO. He says you shouldn't bother as the links you get are from low quality sites. Sorry haven't got a link but you can google it.
yes, but he said that primarily because it normally involves google in digging out the 'ranking' version of a zillion duplicate articles. I.e. work. They are no more keen on working than YOU are, so they don't like it. If you submit a UNIQUE version to each article directory tho, you can add a ton of real backlinks fast, because Google doesn't have the option of paring them down to one definitive (they are all unique!) and even low grade links add up to weight, if you have enough of them. I discuss the duplicate content issue on my site - duplicate content penalty. It's not rocket science kids, think about how REAL popular sites get that way.
I think making good comments relevant to the subject in related blogs with high PR is a great way to build incoming links.
That's great if your goal is PR, but for most of us the goal is traffic, so almost any link that brings a visitor or places on the first 2 pages of the serps is a good one. To answer the OP: Article Marketing and Submissions. Press Releases Social Bookmarking You said you don't want to hear it, but you won't get any natural relevant links from other sites and blogs in your niche without good content, and those are the most powerful.
I like article distribution, I get some of my best links that way I think, some lame ones but since they are one way links from people grabbing my article it has to be better then nothing no?
Link building when people don't want to link to your site is either lame (social bookmarking, forums, directories, etc.) or gray / black hat. That said, exploiting some popular content management systems while a bit spammy could be extremely effective. Start with grey hat and when you're ranking high convert to whitehat and pretend to be from the good guys
Widgets and RSS... Got to over 500,000 links (and PR 7) using this method.... As far as I can tell from Matt Cutts, it's totally White Hat also.... Nothing shady at all.
