So IE 8 is still a pain for developers? what a pain creating various codes for the various browsers.. opera, firefox etc at least mostly play well together.

Chrome i find is buggy with some sites. Always get the "you need cookies" even if they are turned on.

Firefox, Chrome and opera are nice and fast though. IE7 on my vista machine is slooooow and ya gotta wait for the whole page to load before you can scroll unlike the other browsers. was kinda hoping IE 8 would fix most of that.

It's best to stick with IE7 it far more stable and secure. Better yet, use Firefox lol:D

The problem is most customer use internet explorer (like I said still 70% share). Most web savy people do not. So it's important to know how your site looks in IE8 and how it works with IE8 regardless what you use for yourself. Personally I love Mozilla.

Been testing IE8 and with Compatibility mode, it's better than I expected. Still like Mozilla, but got to make sure our sites work with the most "popular" browser brand---especially because it will be bundled with Windows 7 :)

Most used. Whether it is popular is debatable.

Personally, IE8 looks good. Hell, I almost wanted to switch to it until I found that it was breaking web pages. I had to set it to compatibility mode on a plethora of websites that I was going through.. just not my thing for a convenient browsing experience.

    Sticking to firefox and chrome.

Sorry it was sarcasm, that is why "popular" was in quotations. Most used is what I meant.

Actually, its good to use IE8 and report these, so they can fix the final version.I know I reported a couple between beta and release and they are auto-compatibile. For my day to day surfing I use Mozilla. Using Google Chrome, gives Google to much power.

There is no way that IE8 will be better than Firefox, simply because of the ideas behind Micro$oft's programs (money).

I like firefox and have been using firefox since 2004. I tried using IE 8 but i didn't like it much, it had (rather has) bugs, it would even crash sometimes if I would open many tabs and much more. Firefox is really good ebcause of its open source coding. :)

All my sites work perfectly in other browsers, but not in IE8. So i do not like it very much.
Good thing is new tab option, but still much more slower then FF.

We, developers/designers have to use IE7 and IE8 for testing purpose, as jamesplato said people other than net-savvy are using IE.

I personally use Firefox and Opera.

I agree. It's a shame too. What is going on at Microsoft? There falling way behind and there browsers and windows are very bad. Come on Bill Gates, get it together man...
