why didn't the Jewish people convert.

you see the Islamic extremist groups are not the mojerty, they are a minority So you're example doesn't work in that one. but the Jewish people were minority in all countries and they prosecute because of their religion. same as the Nazis they were one country trying to conquer many. This is not about giving in, this is about one small minority religions in many countries, that were prosecuted by the majority religion. all I'm saying is if they would have converted to the majority religion and they were not been prosecuted for example by the Nazis, in Spain, etc.. and many different countries that had discriminatory laws against them.

 

Ahh, I see so you feel that any minority group should just change so they fit in with the majority and don't cause problems. It is still a ridiculous proposition.

Let alone the idea of people just giving in to discrimination and harassment, you ignore the fact that when it comes to religion, these are people's deeply held beliefs. Do you not realize it is insulting to tell them to turn their back on their God to please other people? I would not dare do that to anyone.

Did you like it in Iran or do you like in more in Los Angeles? I know at least here in LA you are free to think, protest, do what you want regardless if you are in the minority. The rights of minority groups to act and think as they please is a cherished freedom. I would not want you to think you have to agree with the majority on anything - that is the beauty of freedom.

 

I actually liked Iran more than Los angeles, but my parents moved me here.

If the minority is being harrassed then yes they should give in. Plus I'm not talking about minority in America, but in other counties in the old days.

I'm not religious in any sense of the word, but, I will not PERSECUTE (Not prosecute, prosecute is something that happens when someone breaks the law) someone just because they are religious, or have a certain religion, or are black, white, red, orange, pink, purple, yellow, or any other color.

What is it you don't like about the US? Is it our freedom to practice religion? Is it our freedom to report the facts, not just what the ayatoolah or whatever he is says it is?

you know if you believe in something no matter what you should have the freedom to practice it. I would never convert in fear of death, in fact I would rather die, so should every one who is true to what they believe in or don't believe in. I think you would probably do the same

I never said I don't like America, I like America, its the only country that allows people to freely practice their religion.

But 400 years ago there were no United State, and Jewish were prosectuted because of their religion in Europe.

So What I'm saying is why didn't they just convert, thats all I'm saying, I'm not talking about jew in todays society in America.

Iran was a free thinking democracy until our own government destroyed their democracy in 1953 and conveniently installed a brutal dicator in his place. Maybe if we left more 3rd world countries alone instead of sneakily exploiting their people and resources we would have alot more democracies around today
