Why does it matter that they are muslim women? Answer that please. If he raped two women, he raped two women, what part does their religion play in that situation other than to be another US vs the Muslim world 'headline maker'?

Anyway, if he raped the women and it's proven that he did it he should face a prison sentence like any other rapist. He's American and so he needs to face American justice if found guilty imo.

Funny, The alleged rapist was a convert to Islam as well.
Anyway, if he raped them, he is a rapist and should be punished for his crime..

Is more than one agent involved? Your titles mentions "agents" and you are using the plural term "they". The article I read mentioned only one agent, are you aware of a second agent being involved?

and just because those women are Muslim doesn't give other Muslims a free pass to use that to turn the terrible situation those women found themselves in into some kind of religious crusade which is how it looks to me right now. Fact is he is American, a citizen of the free world and as such he does deserve to be punished in a way deemed acceptable by his fellow countrymen, not by any country that could use the "they were Muslim women argument" against him as leverage to have him punished further.

    From ABC News:

"U.S. officials were bracing for public reaction in the Muslim world, following the report of the allegation.

"It has the potential to be quite explosive if it's not handled well by the United States government," said Isobel Coleman, a senior fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations who specializes in women's issues in the Middle East."

As for more than one 'agent' being involved, I havent seen that info so perhaps not eh?

Looks more like a criminal act to me than anything political or into religion. Wonder do we need to politicize everything and anything? I guess a move to General Chat will serve its purpose better.

I don't think religion of the victims is important in this case , if there is a crime it is a crime.

    from cnn today

But I don't trust the American authorities since we have a previous example the Haditha killings in Iraq.

It looks like the charges were dropped because the cowards that attacked the convoy tried to use the civilians as cover and it did not work as planned.
