900 Impressions, 2 Clicks?

Hey all. I'm new to affiliate marketing; however, am familiar with many of the processes. I'm currently running a PPC campaign, and I have a couple of small questions.

    1) If I'm getting 900 or so impressions in a day, but only 2 clicks, should I be concerned?

    2) How many keywords do many of you typically list for your PPC ad campaign?

Any and all suggestions or input is greatly appreciate

It depends where your ad ranks and quality score. If your ad is low it will be placed in a higher spot so nobody is really seeing it.

It all depends on the position your ad is shown at. If it's close to the bottom (because your campaign is new, you have a low quality score or just don't bid enough) than there is nothing to wonder about.

I'm sitting fine. I'm in great position. I'm in pos. 1-3 AT ALL TIMES with 4 Separate adwords campaigns. Still dont' know why I'm not getting clicks. I may have low quality score, but this hasn't affected my ad position....I'm in good position because I did bid enough. Still, I'm not getting any clicks.

    Suggestions?

Probably your ad is really really bad. Try changing it.

Change your "call to action" phrase, add some hot words like "rare, secrets, hurry, grab, last, limited, chance, etc.."

    1. Include the keyword in the title
    2. Create tight ad-groups for highly relevant keywords
    3. You can also put the keyword in the display url (www.yourwebsite.com/keywordhere)

definitely you need to make your ads make the user want to click ... asking a question as the header can help capture people's interest

also, what keywords are you ranking highly on? are they buying keywords, or are they info-seeking keywords?

    1)Keywords are in each title
    2) Ad groups & keywords are tight
    3) bought specific domains for keywords/ so each domain IS MY keyword title for each separate ad group

I really don't understand what I'm doing wrong? I changed them around a bit, and I'm still getting lots of impressions with very few clicks. Maybe I just have to consider that the niche is overflooded already, and I just shouldn't expect many Adwords clicks with all of the organic traffic.

---However, I may need to re-examine the keywords. I do have questions on first line of ads. They do seem much more informational than "selling terms" However, I'd still expect some clicks....thanks for the tips!

Actually I had that problem as well. Yes, it could the niche, because I remember myself, creating a PERFECT campaign with relevant adgroups with only few keywords in each + highly targeted ads, but my CTR was even lower than 0.50%

So yeah, it could be the niche.

I think you may be right. I was hoping that my first test would have been successful, but after further review, I do not believe this one will convert. Thanks for all of your help. I'm heading back to the drawing board. Wish me luck!

If your CTR doesn't go below 2% you shouldn't worry that much.

An average CTR is 1.8%. Write multiple ads and use both content match and search results.
