I finished my site few months ago and I started to promote it. I used FaceBook (made my own page and invite people to it), I made Myspace profile and comment to my friends (leave link to my site in comments), I tried YouTube but I dont know how to use YOuTube to promote. I have 44 backlinks. But still no even visits. What I'm doing wrong? My site is in my signature.
You need to do some serious reading about seo. In particular you should read about keywords & links and how they help drive search engine rankings. For example, you have an interesting signature link, but it doesn't target any good keywords for you. The same goes for your homepage title. I doubt anyone searches for 'i have talents'. Google 'seo tutorials' or something like that and get reading. Without proper seo knowledge, your efforts may be a waste.
yea,i agree..even learning some basic seo skills, and having reverent keywords and titles can go along way..GL!
That's the ugliest website I've seen in a while... Read some threads on this site about proper SEO practices, building a bunch of links won't help your site much until you improve it dramatically...
I agree with the others. Read up on SEO. Make sure you are using good keywords. And try to create some more backlinks on high PR sites that allow it.
Seo this, seo that. You people are like talking parrots, repeating what you heard and not undertstanding what you are saying. Do you even know what you are talking about? Typical of this lame, noob board. FosAvanke, just because you do the seo, does not mean you will necessarily land high. It is the luck of the draw. As for getting in more visitors, I'm afraid it is advertising and word of mouth. If you aren't going to pay to bring in more visitors, you might as well forget it. I'm sorry, but I have to agree.
Yeah, it's all luck. There's no point actually doing any work on the site, since internet marketing is all about luck. Hard work, knowledge and experience don't account for anything... Let's put it this way, people will definitely not find your site on Google with horrible SEO. You need to do a lot more than change a few keywords and page titles, but it's a start.
Show me where I said not to do seo. I have always said that search engines are overrated, and to not FOCUS on seo but more so on advertising. Interent marketing is not all about luck. Landing high in search engines is. Polly want a cracker?
i would disagree on this. Initially when you're starting out, hard work and knowledge does help. If our friend here knows a little about finding some long-tail kw with relatively less competition, he could have done better to rank his site with article directories. Look at his main page, he did even do anything to optimize his title.
If I can add some suggestions: 1.) Work on a new header/banner... it's too cheesy. That little thing you have with the celebs, and show the young/old versions was unique, but it's the first thing people see when they check your site out, and it is looking a bit unprofessional. 2.) Create a solid logo. It seems too plain with the black/green, so just work on something that is a little more apealing. (I'm sure others will disagree, but it's what I thought of when I checked out your site. 3.) Work on more original content, this site reminds me of an online video site focusing on music-fad videos. Instead, replace those videos at the bottom with categories like 'dancer of the day'/ 'band of the day' and actually showcase your site's talent Hope that helps out some.
*slaps forehead* Buddy, do you not understand sarcasm? I thought the eye rolling smiley was enough to show that I was kidding. Of course hard word, knowledge and experience helps...it's crucial to web marketing success (and some luck doesn't hurt)
