Hmm… I’m not a fan of myspace, but they do post warnings everywhere, so they can’t really be blamed, the two could’ve met anywhere!
I thinks MySpace is not liable in any way. There are a lot of other ways a teen ager may meet with adult sexual predators. May be at park, bus-stop, over telephone, online chat and so on. So, MySpace should not be accused.
thats just some family trying to make some money out of myspace. fair doos she was assulted, and feels upset, but myspace go out of their way to protect the young, its unfair saying that they dont. 14 year olds should stop photographing themselfs in bras and pants, its just not cool. myspace is not responsible, its the 19 year old twat that sexually assulted her! how is myspace responsible for what people do in their private life?
The girl is stupid enough to meet a stranger online in real life. Case closed. the girl shoudl sue the stranger instead. What if I failed a exam, do I sue the company that manufactored my pen? jesus christ.
The girl has to follow the terms. Its her fault. Myspace will will for sure. Some people just want money.
No shit ... Dr. Phil had a show on about this before where the mother came on as "sweet kitten" or somethhing and talked to her two sons, one of which wanted to hook up with her (he was 16 or 17) and gave up his phone number, the other gave out a friends phone number who in turn gave his phone number. People are just plain ole stupid now adays.
The girl frankly speak, is searching for an easy money, i guess, £30m for sex assault and then blame Myspace, did she read the warning that is on everywhere on Myspace??
The guy that supposedly assaulted the girl is suing MySpace as well. My bet is the 2 trumped up this scam to try to get some moolah.
Ya that's really stupid, I don't think myspace is responsible for this, as Matture said they could have very well meet somewhere else. Well if the girl was feeling assaulted she could have well blocked the user (@ 14 you surely have some brain!).
what is the status... is case really dismissed? also why people do come up trying to earn easy money... if i would have the owner of MYSPACE then i would have sued that girl for wasting my time and for debranding too...
I'm gonna sue MySpace too. Because they exist I just wasted a couple of minutes reading this thread..
Kinda stupid...does her lawyer knows about the terms and conditions before joining the site..in fact if she did not tolerate such actions..this won't happen..i feel sorry for her..but in this case..MySpace will win.
always has been a large number of rediculos cases.....but, in states, can you countersue someone for wasting your time?
