    Hi

I would just like to get your opinion on using NLP weasel phrases or "hypnotic" language? If you know what I am talking about can you give your opinion on what works?

I have never found any use for it in writing, because I feel tone and speech pattern is what makes this work IRL.

Is it something you guys use?

I have been studying NLP since the last 2 years or so...And yes...Marketing is all about understanding end user psychology. If you want to know what works...Just look at some of the headlines daily tabloids have.

All they use hypnotic language and strong call to action words.

Yes that's correct. It's pretty complex when you do it for the very first time but it has several branches. It deals with emotional mastery, goal achievement etc etc. It's actually the base of all the self-help material out there. Guys like tony robbins, jim rohn etc are all students of NLP.

Yes I am quite familiar with NLP actually, there seems to be a lot of products
popping up on clickbank about this subject. But I always thought about it as
as you said self help. How does it relate to the sales letter?

If I was to ask you this- "Don't think of a black cat" what's the first thing you think about? Well a black cat? Why? Because your sub-concious does not understand "NO". It just follows commands.

    So the message actually wasn't-

Don't think of a black cat

It was- Don't think of a black cat...The sub-concious will not consider don't.

So when you apply it to marketing and sales pages...All you have to do is to embed commands into your sales copy.

    Here is an example-

Let me strongly warn you...Do Not Read This if you are weak at heart...This page contains deadly information not meant for everyone.

And most people will read through because there is a very strong embedded command in this message which will force the end user to read further.

You will notice that a lot of successful internet marketers are real good at this stuff. Hope this helps. Thanks a lot.

Oh yes I see what you are getting at. I have read before that the mind doesn't understand know, but
I never considered using NLP in my marketing. Thanks a lot for the information.

It's also because most ppl like to play chicken and win and like to think that they are better than the rest. Such feelings are easy to appeal to.

85% of drivers truly believe that they drive better than average... :)
