How to market a website without continually adding content?

I'm in the process of starting up a health-niche website that provides some good content, in the form of 5-10 articles. This isn't really a topic where content can be updated on a daily/weekly basis, etc. It's not really a blog, but more of a article resource. It simply provides some straight-up unique articles about the health-related topic.

That being said, how can I start and continue to market this website efficiently using only the initial 5-10 articles without adding content regularly? A bonus of many sites is that they update their site regularly with content. But I'm afraid I wouldn't necessarily be able to do it with this niche.

If I have no other content to add regularly, what steps should I take to make sure I keep receiving organic traffic, and keep it growing?

You could add a forum or something to get discussions which means more content for the search engines to spider. Many of my sites haven't been updated in ages but I used to do a lot of link building with them. Off-site SEO is a lot more important.

And if possible, get more than 5-10 articles no matter how obscure the niche is. Get around 50 articles done and either dripfeed them or post them all at once and ping/SB/promote the hell out of them for the next few months.

Techmanice gives good points there. If you are not there to add content, get other people to do it.

Discussion or simply hiring somebody to write articles could work.

One thing which i learn without content site/blog is nothing. Because one day u will lose the rank.

In ur niche , it will be difficult because health niche is already very crowded. You should add forum in ur site.

Another idea I got... if you can give gifts & stuff (for free) - arrange contests, and announce those several times a week, it could be possible to increase traffic without actually adding much content.
(and make sure the people would be promoting your site... with some sort of referral system)

I like the forum idea. That keeps the content changing for you. :)

Also use good keywords and make sure you have backlinks to your site. This can help with search engine rankings.
