after submitting like mad last week i have found that little of the directories i used accepted my submit. Does anyone know the best way of submiting to directories no one has just left running and DOES look at submissions
There are a lot of abandoned directories out there that simply won't approve your links. You can try to check the date of the latest approved sites to get an idea Here is a good free directory list with sites that will actually accept your submissions.
I am taking a guess here - Free directories correct? If so, what did you expect? Yes - If your site is quality submit it to some high quality pay for review directories.
Did you follow the directories TOS? We have them all our directories yet maybe 2-5% of submitters actually follow it
Some of the older ones (free) are in a sort of coma state, ive seen 20-30k pending submissions. Many brand new free ones will list you quickly. A week isn't long though, give them time. Some owners/editors will wait until a number have come through then work their way through them.
well I have to ask you if you respect the rules of those directories. I now I submitted to about 100 directories in the last week, all manual , no automatic submission, and about 80 of 100 accepted me already.
The "Best" way is to use a directory submission tool then use the "manual submit" features. And if you really want your time to be worthwhile take the time to write high quality Titles and Descriptions that are not crammed full of spammy keyword phrases. Then and this is equally important take the time to really comb through the categories to find the most relevant. Do that and your chances for inclusion are greatly increased, and your time is much better spent.
The first 33 directories on that list are all cross-linked .info's, are you sure its a list worth recommending, because that isn't a good start. @tentwenty - Many of the directories have adopted strict editing/reviewing policies (yes the free ones) and they won't just include anything that gets submitted. So in many cases you have to look at the information that you are submitting, and make sure that it meets the guidelines.
He wanted directories that approve links, I gave him directories that approve fast. A link from a brand new directory is better than no link at all
I know the story......First of all OP have not read any directory tos,2nd swedal the OP is not wishing to pay any money for a review,3rd silencer if the OP knew about these things he will straight go to your site and some other reputable sites,4th stoner if he had a quality and unique site most probably you have been reviewed in the past(maybe before many years) and aprove it free of charge. End of story
Obey the TOS and submit on proper category or a perfect directory. Don't submit your general site on a wrong niche directory..
they say that nowadays, Directory Submission is dead....its ok not to submit to all of them (oh there are many of them) but be sure to have your site listed on the biggies such as DMOZ
This list is the best IMO and contains decent regularly reviewed dirs - http://info.vilesilencer.com/
I would suggest that by choosing from well known reputable directories that have developed a good "brand" e.g BOTW or Yahoo you are more likely to get your site reviewed properly at least, rather than completely ignored.
