automaticbacklinks, are you using any automatic link classification. Meaning when you get a link you automatically analyse to which category it might be linked to and thus get an appropriate site to link to.

Vit, No we are not using any automatic detection of topics as this would be very difficult to do in multiple languages. Instead we require all sites to manually categorize their content and then offer our members to manually decide what topics they would like to exchange links with.

 

Well, that is better than automated IMHO, as it givves the owner the choice.

You can actually start ignoring Google, who think that you should only use AdWords and AdSense for advertising..

 

not wanting to p*ss on your parade, but iframing in the links is kind of pointless as they wouldnt show up on the source of the page in question, rendering the links useless from an SEO P.O.V.

It would work for traffic biased backlinks, but unless Im misunderstanding your platform entirely, its not what you are 'selling' here is it?

You are absolutely right - I hadn't thought about that. Well there is is... there is not any foreseeable way we can make this happen for sites using only flat HTML - sorry guys.

I'm not sure if you've heard of Morgan Carey who runs real estate forum and sites. His network got penalized by google for illegal link exchanges early last year. Someone from Google got hold of the emails they sent to agents and real estate site owners about the link exchange. All the people involved in the program got a 0, ZERO, NADA, ZILCH PR after the next update.

The premise is this: the Morgan Carey team has URL's of websites that pays them. And those who want to join the program will have the chance to link to those sites via a DO FOLLOW comment page with the keyword as the name. Only a few would share the links because only a few would be approved in the comment section. The comment link would be in exchange of linking 5 of Morgan Carey's customers.

 

Just to add my thoughts to the to and fro on this thread. I can't verify what I'm going to say but I rather agree with the point of view that the whole link punishment thing is a little exaggerated.

I think that the worst that would happen would be that the links would be either not accounted or discounted somewhat. I doubt there would be any penalty at all. If that is considered punishment then maybe. That's like saying if I have 50 dollars and don't give it to you then I'm stealing from you i.e if Google don't factor the links, it's not punishing them as such is it.

In the case of the Joomla system the quality of the sites ought to be very high and that should help also.

best way to get automatic backlink is to write killer content
