I started out sending tons of articles to all the shabby article directories with the submitter software. I just dont see how that can be effective. For 1 ,how is anyone gonna come up with 700 unique articles to send? You have to spin them- And everyone knows that isnt really the best way to go. 2. Less than 10% of those directories are even worth submitting to. 3. It takes many of them weeks to approve your articles. Once I started to concentrate on the top 5-10 article directories ,I started seeing real results. I made sales and got my articles ranked on the search engines. I know that the backlinks are good for SEO, but can backlinks from sites that arent ranked that well be effective? I was just interested in what others think of mass submissions.
This type of mass submission or submittting by toool is killing and will destroy the site traffic from SE..... better work manually in forums article bookmarking etc.. regulerly will slowly effect on th esite traffic and ranking and get a stabled position
Article marketing doesn't means spamming each and every article directory out there with low quality spinned articles. As you found out focusing on just a few but quality article directories will result in more traffic and sales. You should clean your article directory list and remove all dead / abandoned sites. P.S.: your title is a little bit misleading. Directories and Article Directories is not exactly the same
dont try to submit anything even links or articles by automated softwares as no SE likes this..........directory posting will not give you any traffic but they will give you backlinks and that will help you more...........
Ok, so what are the top 10 article directories? I invite everybody's input on this one and thank you.
not necessarly the top 10 , but here are some of the most important i use : ARTICLE DIRECTORIES : ezinearticles.com Goarticles.com articledashboard.com Searchwarp.com www.ezine-article-exchange.com www.indoocean.com articlesbase.com ideamarketers.com goarticles.com articlealley.com article99.com
Quality links on related sites is obviously better than links on low rated sites... but, a link is a link. Who would rank better in the search engines? Two identical sites content/quality wise, but one with links from PR0 web directories or another with no links at all?
I checked the "Articles Amplified" link in the sig of the OP and I found it leads to a page where it is not clear to enter your email or last name into. Definitely needs fixing. On this topic, I know many article directories are not even ranked with Google. So concentrate on few quality article directories with some PR rank and you would get more traffic and exposure.
Of course, I would concentrate on the bigger directories. Given some time, I have even had my article pages rank if they get picked up by other sites that include the required link back to them. But other, smaller directories - may have other linking methods that gives you a "mix" of backlink sources - both to your article and original page. And the smaller directories - like mine - allow in text backlinks, where the big guys may confine you to a resource box and have limits on your anchor text. So if you can vary your articles a bit, you can try to rank for different combinations of keywords too.
