    Dear all ,

Can different domain names on same hosting account be optimized for search engines

Have few doubts and clarifications ...

    1. Will each of these domain names get a pagerank?
    2. Will it be OK for google and other search engines ?

Any inputs will be appreciated .

    Thanks
    Ani

In most cases this won't cause a problem. If the websites offer the exact same products, services or content then you would have to be extra careful. Just make a point of adding plenty of unique content on each website and you should be fine. Be careful to ensure that you don't create very similar link profiles for those 2 websites. I would avoid cross linking such websites as well.

    Thanks vansterdam !

No, website are are in different niches...

content is also unique in most of the cases...but what if i use other articles as blog post ?

and secondly instead of 2 domains what if 25-50 domains (diff niches)are hosted in same account ? will google consider it ?

    1. Of course.
    2. Of course.

You should only avoid heavily interlinking the two sites and you will be fine in Google, Yahoo & Live.

There will not be problem. There can be problem only if you try to make backlinks between first and second domain.
They wont have the same weight for google as from different server

Even if you host tens of domain names on a same hosting account there won't be a problem as long as you regard all of them and work each of the domains as a separate site.

They will be indexed, ranked and will have PR.

For example, add unique content pages to each site and do not interlink the sites with each other.

you are willing to optimize all of your domains for the same website with same content it's frowned upon by google and you would most likely to loose your page rank Google wants 301 redirect instead.... be careful

This was a very similar question to what I needed an answer to.

I am creating a number of different websites for various companies, they are mainly wordpress sites held in different directories and using the same database.

Each site has a unique url and very unique content, each site will have backlinks to 1 or 2 of my sites and I was concerned that google would not provide me with the same value/weighting of link as a site hosted separately.

Any thoughts would be gratefully received

    to my best knowledge this should not have any problem with google as long as each website has different content.... they simply hate duplicate contents, if you host instead of redirecting more than one domain to same website it could lead to some problems.. for instance. http://abc.com/same-content.html and http://xyz.com/same-content.html while http://xyz.com/different-content.html should not have any issue despite being hosted on same server or using same database of abc.com .... :-}}}
