My adsense earning

I was receiving at least 400 clicks in last month december with 4000 page impressions per day on my Ads, and i was earning 20 dollars per day.

Now in this month january 2009 i have at least 5000 page impressions with 600 clicks per day but my earning is so low at least 6 or 7 dollars per day...
The page ctr and cpm is also good from previous month (december).
im also updating my content after 2 or three days...
Can anyone shed some light on this.
    regards.

i think maybe because of its niche; an entertainment sites,maybe..as i do face this kind of 'problem' a long time ago or maybe the 'smart-pricing' factors..

Did you changed your site content? E. g. if you run a weblog the most visited pages are those with the last articles. In such case it is possible that your previous articles contained keywords wiht higher competition so the price per click was higher.

Most probably smart pricing. Happen to my sites too. New site earnings will drop after 2 or 3 month.

I would blame smart pricing, jeeez the economic crisis is getting the blame for everything, it even made me not get a pay rise this year

Previously on same website i had $1.81 per click now a days I am seeing even $0.01 per click. Definitely something is gone wrong. Or I think as soon as clicks increase Google starts decreasing the pay per click. Anyways confused and facing same problem.

I hate when this happens. I try to give good stuff to the readers, but if they click a sponsor I would hope they find something good to go along with it. Seriously, if somebody leaves your site in a matter of seconds by way of an ad, I think google sticks you with smart pricing after a while.... placing you in the MFA category (wrongly!)

Hang in there! Freshen things up with different phrases and always include what you see missing when reading other similar sites! ;)

for those of u still think this is not economic crisis! you are earnings less that other because you guy don't care! the ecpm and the average price in adsense is fall 70% for most of the adsense webmaster! because the economic is bad, and don't know obama got plan to fix it, the stock market is down turn and all business is unstable! that lead to money use to advertising to adwords!

google adwords and adsense revenue have down 68% in 2008 compare to 2007, so they want to fix the problem by cutting money pay to publisher! because they almost can't cover the cost of advertising section! so that is what they do... (the boss don't want to earn less, so they cut money from us...)

I am not sure about the economy causing adsense not to pay out anymore. I know that I have had months were my earnings would drop drastically for the same amount of clicks. It all depends on your site I think and what level ads your having posted. After a month though I ranked better in google itself again and my ads started paying out again. I may be totally wrong but its a lot to do with the whole picture and how your ranking etc.

During my last campaigns I noticed a decreased rate for my adwords as well.

It's true they are paying less in Adsense. I missed a payout this month, and that hasn't happened in a while. Sometimes I count my chickens before they hatch!

Last month was the biggest month of the year for shopping both online and off. Obviously since there was more competition, advertisers had to pay more for their clicks. It's perfectly natural and will happen again at the end of this year. Be better prepared for it this next time around.

Adsense earning is related with click and click is related with different types of country.
So your lower earning in adsense during current year is depend on various types of country through which clicks have been done.
