Getting Individual Blog Posts to Rank in Google

I have a golf blog that's several years old, PR3, good backlinks etc.etc. I started it out on Blogger back in the beginning and used to get my individual blog posts ranked well for keywords. I switched to Wordpress about 6 months ago, and now I'm not getting any traffic from individual posts. None seem to rank for any keywords, even with well written titles & descriptions. I'm using the All in one SEO plug. I'm not sure what I need to do to get my posts ranked. I do know basic SEO, and have always tried to apply it to my blog articles, but I'm thinking that the switch to Wordpress changed something. Any ideas?

    The site is www.TourGolfBlog.com

a change from wordpress from blogger is a major move. you can say its pretty much a fresh start. did you migrate from blogger or just copied the same content on wordpress leaving blogger the way it is? if you migrated and dont have the blogger blog anymore, then keep building some backlinks to your new wordpress blog. pay attention to details like what has changed since the move. like you title, filename, etc. also consider how many backlinks you had to blogger blog and how many you have now

I agree with Loco.M you need to pick the posts you want to get good ranks for and focus building links to them individually. I've always used blogger and have had individual posts go PR 4.

I was using the TourGolfBlog.com domain with the Blogger Blog. I did migrate it over, so the blogger blog is no more. Would google lend more weight to "Blogger" produced blogs because it's their own product? I'm not going back to Blogger. Wordpress is just so much better, but I'd like my posts to get ranked again. I'll work on building more links to the individual posts and see if my results improve.

    Christian,

I've tried Blogger and Wordpress. I think Wordpress is much better if you want the site to look good. But Blogger has definite advantages when it comes to rankings on Google.

Internal pages (individual blogs posts in your case) should rank fairly well if the domain is trusted by Google.
If that's not the case here is what you have to do:

    1. Make sure the title is optimized.
    2. Write a decent meta description and meta keywords.
    3. Make sure the blog post is linked from the homepage.
    4. Make sure your content is absolutely unique and search engine friendly.
    5. Build a lot of deep links with the keyword you're targeting in the anchor text.

He/She means that you need to build backlinks which link directly to your individual blog post pages. The best way I've found to do this is by posting your URL in related forums or in related blog commenting.

Well, Wordpress has been recognized as the blogging script of choice among webmasters and so there is nothing wrong with using that.

Also, try adding some newer forms of links to your blog beside the forums and commenting, like directories and article writing.
