My site http://www.paiddirectories.info (see here)was accepted into yahoo for free. Saved me $300 i believe. I still dont know whether i submitted to Yahoo or not. Anyway i am through it.
i am still not convinced that i hand submitted to yahoo as free listing. it looks like some editor took interest of my site and included it.
Congrats! How long did it take for you to get listed? And are you sure you didn't submit yourself? Who did it for you?
infact, my site is just 25 days old. I dont think i submitted to yahoo. Looks like the one of yahoo editors took interest on mine. no, they did'nt send me any notification on inclusion. Honestly i dont expect traffic from yahoo. Looking for PR boost. Will share with you guys, soon.
Looks like Yahoo is using a redirect script, so no PR would be passed. http://rds.yahoo.com/S=78757:D1/CS=78757/SS=97526853/SIG=114tnaons/*http://www.paiddirectories.info/
Things are not always as they look. olddocks - Congrats on the listing. A free listing is still very possible within the directory - especially in categories that are lacking. Since you didn't receive any notification it was added, it's possible that you did not submit (someone else could have?). It was added on Friday, June 23, 2006. Hopefully the listing will propogate to the English regional versions of the regonal directories - I see it's in Australia & New Zealand.
Olddocks, maybe its possibly you used some bulk submission tool, and Yahoo was included? Hopefully you will see pagerank passed. I know Google gives consideration to a Yahoo listing.
here is the update, ever since the site was included in Yahoo, i get some nice traffic from yahoo (search engine). it seems that yahoo search gives some nice rankings to sites listed in their directory.
i think you might have submitted your directory to yahoo via a regional site like .co.in for free i also submitted
Regfional directories are a great way to go for free submission. It's also possible an editor added it as they thought it was a worthwhile site.
