Hi I'm not too great at making my front page very "magnetic" if you will. What would you recommend doing with just text and images as resources. Just general rules and tips. Example sites are welcome. Thanks
Try to find out what your target visitors are looking for and make sure it's on your homepage. People dedicate only a few seconds on every page they visit. You have to attract their attention by providing exactly what they're looking for. All the information should be well organized and the site navigation should be very user-friendly. Keep in mind most people are computer newbies (depends on your niche but generally speaking) so you have to make things extremely easy for them or they will just hit the BACK button.
If you don't have anything to offer the public, don't put a website up... The "general rules and tips are those that work" for you. Do it. See what works for you. There is no magic formula...
This also goes for plain text. Just asking. You didn't have to go rain on my thread. If you have anything useful to add let me know, otherwise, don't go scaring noobs off. I could have told you that for anything that anyone could ask.
