How to promote new games website?

Dear digital pointers,

I'am from germany and until now I only promoted german websites online but I want to go more in american direction . So I decided to start a games website focussing on flash games and unique game news (can't show you yet sorry, isn't filled up with content yet).

But how to promote? On my other websites submitting news to social news websites is working great, but I don't know which social news websites are best to reach english speaking audience. Is there maybe a special social news network just for topics belonging to gaming (not gambling )?

Maybe you can help me with a little input!

Buy some advertisement form other gaming sites.

 

I've been promoting gaming sites and contests & free games are one way to bring traffic. I wrote a thread about getting traffic to (in my example it's gaming) site - check it out.

If I was In your place.... this is what I'll do:

1. make some "good" videos with animoto.com,
2. Create a chanel in youtube.com
3. Upload your staff to youtube
4. Digg your Videos
5. Send digg "link" to your friends and ask them to digg it, in order to create "buzz"

Repeat the process,

 

Well, you can use adwords or advertise on high traffic game website/forum if you willing to pay.
Else, you can try to make a video and submit to youtube, posting on game forum (use your signature to promote), write something about game and submit to article submission site and you can try promote them thorugh social network such as facebook too

You need as many links as possible and as much video exposure as possible.
The advice on YouTube from anouar is terrific - definitely do some YouTube videos. If you don't already have CamStudio (a free program to do video screen captures) then go to camstudio.org to get it.

I would also suggest the following:
1. Write some articles and submitting to article directories. This works, although you do need to write a good number of articles, at least 20-30, to see results. You can always go onto elance.com and hire someone with good English skills to write these articles for you.

2. Post on forums.

3. Find some gaming blogs and make comments.

4. Go onto answers.yahoo.com and answer a bunch of gaming related questions.

5. Check out a link building service like the one in my signature.

These days link building and promotion requires some continuing effort (despite what the get-rich-quick gurus/scammers say) so use as many techniques as possible that fit within your budget and time constraints.

Hmm, pretty interesting tactic to be honest... but do you think these would help get traffic to the site (rather than to youtube )

promoting a new website is by sending emails to only the orgnisation where you can find that gaming, email and many other websites are blocked.....

write a tip at the bottom of the emails that you can play these games on mywebsite by entering my webste through any proxy websites, servers.........make them think that there are other persons on this earth who knows what they want....
