any particular reason you want UK hosting? or will it be ok if the server is located in UK? and do you have any space and bandwidth requirements? and what about budget?
Hi we can offers you uk hosting as well, just take a look here We accept paypal and moneybookers. Regards, Vincent M.
Im on EUKHOST.com and great guys there. Hosted in the UK and is working getting me higher on google.co.uk - my target market.. I had some fools ( not refering to man above..) here trying to pawn off US or servers in their bedroom in India as UK based hosting.. be very careful and checkout where server is based..
Well, if your domains are .co.uk it wouldnt really matter about hosting. If the people are mainly from uk, US is not yet far. You almost get the same speed as both US and UK servers are really at high speed. I aint telling you to choose a US server instead, its just an advice to keep an alternative as people dont keep only UK based hosting normally. Its kind of very rare to find a host specifically good in a particular place.
By getting UK hosting he will get better results in Google if visitors are also from UK and do a search.
No really, search results depend on the domain extension. .COM domains will be shown in all google general search, .co.uk domains will be shown in both google general and pages from UK search. Nothing to do with hosting. The only thing i think would affect is the FTP service as it will have speed differences..
The IP only affects only if the hosting companies IP is blacklisted by the Internet service providers in UK, i just had a quick look through a article:- http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=712546 Hope i didnt miss out stuff, but in most cases, it only says that the IP only affects only if they are blacklisted. Which basically points out to the web hosts who allow "Warez" sites on them and maybe same with proxy. I might have miss out something, but i would accept that i am not totally a SEO adviser, but some research does help me give a valid point.
Google does show different results for different type of Geo-Modified searches based on where you are located, which means that Rankings can be affected by IP Address Geo-location. In order to decide at which search results a website will be listed in, i.e. google.com, google.co.uk or google.de, the country code top level domain (or ccTLD) comes into play. If your content is German or French this may help Google in associating your .com website to the correct country index. If on the other hand you have English content (majority of the sites ), then Google turns to your IP address record. IP addresses are allocated in blocks to server hosts and associated with specific countries; Just like the way Google determines the location of the surfer (by IP-address), it determines the location of a website by the IP-address of the server. So, if you would like search engine traffic from a specific location or country, then you better make sure that the IP-address of your server is located in that country!
oh okay, i get it now, I'll just get this threat bookmarked so i can convince myself to understand how SEO works. Well although, hope the OP gets most of his answers here. If you have got hosting for yourself already, do update the threat so as to stop further offers.
