doubts in mailing concepts

    Hi all,

Am here with a new set of doubts. But this time for my friends. Actually they are constructing a feature with which you can select multiple mails by making a tick mark present against them. And now these multiple selected mails should be sent to one person. We do not have such facility in gmail or yahoo. I have not worked with anyother mail agents. they have decided to do it in php.

In the first phase, they tried sending mail using pop3 and then got a "delivered message". But when checked their email inbox, they did not get mail.

And what are the possible issues in pursuing this project? I mean there can be a problem when they want to send say "100 selected mails" to 100 persons as in the case of mass mailing. It may create traffic problem right? So how can we solve this?

Maybe you can subscribe to external POP3 servers that provide multiple IP that prevent your mail from being block. I shouldn't help you more if you want create a spammer apps ;).

I think so you misunderstood the purpose of this project. What the intention is that to develop the feature of selecting multiple mails and sending them as a single mail to a particular person. This is the first phase.

Then once it is successful, we can also send this multiple selected mails as a single mail to many persons or to multiple contacts.

I hope now you understand. If you think this feature already exists, then can you give us some reference or any help to complete the project. It is done in php. Thanks.

post your selected emails into one string so it can be converted into one email. sending email to multiple users can be made by just putting "," to the recipient variable.

the email must be dynamic depending on the senders request.. all email must be in the database or atleast in an array

Thank you for your suggestion dude. But i have a doubt here. Say for example, when you are sending a mail to 1000 persons at a time(mass mailing), it will create a traffic congestion in the network right. And now in this case, if i select the contents of 10 different mails, making it as a single mail and now sending to 1000 contacts, will that not create more traffic congestion problems? So is there any solution for this.

I heard that in that case, seperate threads must be created for each contact and send it as 1000 parallel threads so that they will be treated as seperate requests by the server and there will not be any problem. Is that right?

you can do a sleep or a delay in the script.. lets say you have a 1000 recipients, send emails to 10 recievers then execute a sleep then the next 10 recievers and so on.. these will lessen your traffic.
