Hello, Do you know if Google will extends Google Checkout to every country (in particular All European countries) ?
I am not sure. But it will take time since the global slow down. My opinion is they are able to fight with PayPal, they may come up with some other ideas to attract PayPal users.
You can be rest assured that sooner or later, Google Checkout will make its presence felt all over the world. While PayPal has a huge database of users, the amount of people using their services is minuscule compared to the users of Google. Though it is tough to say offhand, I'd speculate that Google Checkout will have a major presence by mid 2009.
Check out : ---------------- Sales of up to 10 times your monthly AdWords spend --> Free So if it was available in Europe, the processing would be free (compare to 2% + 0.25 charge with paypal).
Not sure about all countries. They (google checkout) are very careful and that's why they have lots of countries out of list already.
Google canceled all free processing in December. Non profits also have to pay starting this month. Nice of Google not to publicly announce it at all! http://www.merchantaccountblog.com/474/no-more-free-checkout-from-google
I am trying to dig up the article, but there was an announcment that they plan to further expand to more contries "In the near future" Canada was one of the listed countries. But near future could be a few years out still. I would love to be able to offer a second payment option to my clients.
No, google checkout is not available in all countries. It's only available in USA, UK like countries.
Currently it isnt available in Asia.. but thats how google captures market, starts small and grows big... very soon its gonna be a challenge to paypal
paypal in online payment is just like google in online search. it would be damn hard to beat them, even for google.
I don't see Google beating PayPal anytime soon, just because the fact that PayPal is very aggressive within their markets and sheer number of guys prefer PayPal for it's simplicity.
A competitor to challenge the monopolistic leader is always good....for both the consumers as well as the leader company. I am eagerly waiting for google checkout to spread its wings and challenge paypal....as also somebody needs to challenge the dominance of google in online advt. and search engine.... Regards, RightMan
