I must admit it wasnt my first month but my first month of trying a few things out. So far I've been putting text links on a couple of blogs but they havent come to much and putting text links in forums whenever a post seemed relevant to something sold at amazon.co.uk Anyone got any tips of what I can do to up the income? Thanks
1. use adwords 2. if you don't have adwords, you can advertise on classified ads website like gumtree. just give short and great description about your product, then link back to your website.
Well done mate. I know people who've spent £1000's developing sites and not made anything on affiliate income. Perservere. Adwords may be an option . . . if that works then you could go down the SEO route too.
Adwords on my blogs? Will give that a go. I think I have it on one of them but not sure if they have been clicked on? So pay for an ad on gumtree linking back to my sites? Care to elaborate please? I'm not in a position to give advice as I've just started and don't really know much. I just posted links on forums direct to amazon and then posted reviews on my blog.
Can we see the site ? How are you guys giving advice and you don't even know what he's working with ? What his niche is ? or even if this is an astore, AOM, blogger blog with text links ? What's the site ? What have you got going so far ?
The sites are in my sig. Which to get traffic I have links in my sig on forums relating to them. Only the social anxiety one gets me any money. I also post links in forums. For instance if there was a thread on what is a good heart rate monitor I would post a link to amazon of my heart monitor which I think is good. Some people click on it and one might buy it. This method cannot be sustained as you have to be on the forums a lot to get more than a few quid a month. The eczema blog gets about 200-250 hits a day but I'm not sure how to get money from that.
Alright JDog, First of all, most of which was suggested here will not work for you. You are at a disadvantage using free hosted word press when it comes to monetization. They don't let you do much if anything and you certainly cannot put adsense on them. You can monetize the blogger blog with adsense, and I believe affiliate banners, let's just leave that one alone for a sec. Since your Eczema blog gets the most traffic, and it is also a good little niche, I would suggest taking that one first, and spending the money on your own domain (about eczema), and getting some cheap hosting so that you can capitalize on the content that you have and build on it. You can transfer that content onto a self hosted word press blog, and sign up for an affiliate program that sells related products. Health care items generally pay pretty good per sale. Joe Bucks comes to mind, but I am not sure they have any eczema products, but you shouldn't have a hard time finding a program. Unfortunately you are limited with free hosted word press and you will not be able to monetize them successfully. Not only that but it can be shut down abruptly if you violate TOS. I would back up my content from that blog, since it is doing something for you, just in case, and you will always have it when you host your own blog. That is going to be the only way. Last time I checked, wordpress.com allows one affiliate link, or one donation button. You should double check that to make sure, but that is a good niche to work, you really should self host. JMO
Thanks for taking the time to look. I will get some hosting this weekend. If I move my blog across will I loose my ranking as its effectively a new site?
If you have PR, you will lose it, but just recreate what you did, and keep adding to it and you should get it back. The benefits of self hosting are worth the temporary loss of PR, besides, traffic is the most important thing.
Mine only make $38.40 so far for first month. Need use new techniques and I don't spend money on Adword.
if yo make 10 pund for the first month, it is a quite good result, but you still need to work hard...
