    Hi guys, quick question...

Say I have my max cpc as $1
    and I get 5 clicks: $5 spent.
    And I get 1 lead: $4 ($1 loss)

Can I (should I) reduce my cpc by 0.20 in one go, or slowley take it down by 0.05 at a time until I get to 0.20???

Does adwords mind big keyword price changes or not?

    Thanks for the advice!

You know, I have tested this with many campaigns and have found that once you get going at a certain CPC, you are stuck there... There is no going down on your bid. If you were being charged a buck per click and that was your max bid, that means you weren't getting a lower rate.

Now, what you can do is, kill the campaign, delete it from the system and start fresh. Make sure that your landing page, title tag on the landing page, the title of your ad and the body of your ad are all related to the same group of keywords. This will help your quality rating skyrocket and your cpc take a huge nose dive.

    Good luck!

I've had adword campaign's run down over time with increased ctr rates. My lowest drop was from 3.01 dollars a click down to about 1.40ish in about 50 - 60 days because my ctr rate rose. So I'm pretty sure it's possible.

Don't know how much the poster above me has tested but I'm talking thousands of clicks for a single ad group.

Cheers for the replies guys... :)

I might have made a mistake trying to say what i mean...

Say I have my max cpc as $1.20 and my avarage cost per click is $1
    and I get 5 clicks: $5 spent.
    And I get 1 lead: $4 ($1 loss)

Now, say that adwords is saying that the min price i have to pay is $0.60...

Can i just reduce my max cpc from $1.20 to $0.60 or should i only go from $1.20 to $1.15, then the next day $1.15 to $1.10, etc, etc...

Thanks again for the help! :)

Abi, i haven't done it myself yet, but with regards to your question, i read someone mentioning before that he preferred to reduce the bids by 5cents at a time, then watch it, see how it goes and if it looks like he could reduce more then another 5cents within a day or two, and so on...

Rather than straight down by 20, 40 60...
