Errrr....Sorry..... my bad!!! I didnt say it correct... Dont make a new key..go to URL history Right click in the right panel, chose new>binary value, name it to 'DaysToKeep' and put the value of 14(hexadecimal). Sorry for the confussion And Rob I am still confused....
Yep. FF is trash and I refuse to use it. IE7 Beta2 works perfect. But, I dont want to turn this into a ff vs ie pissing match. Just trying to get this issue fixed before it drives me to suicide. =X
I wouldn't say that FF is trash, and as a matter of fact I use FF more than I use IE (mostly on linux) When I am using Windows, I switch off between both. For those who have not tried the IE7 beta, I would suggest that maybe they give it a shot. It seems to me to be SIGNIFICANTLY faster than the previous version, and it also seems to be faster than FF on my particular setup. I don't know if all my extensions are maybe slowing FF down, but that's something else that maybe I'd need to experiment with. Sorry to go offtopic, but I'm guessing the last solution that webmaster gave should solve your issue...
You are not doing it right..you are still creating a key dont creat a key right click in the URL history panel..choose a new Dword value..and put the value as 14, base hexadecimal. And you are creating value in Cache>History, when you should create it under internet settings>URL History
OK, I just created the location url history, and then added the dword thing inside there. Lets see what happens, let me restart!
Theres a file in that location, but it says "value not set" under the "data" area and it's type is a REG_SZ file
Do one thing download the attched txt file rename it from regi.txt to regi.reg and run it choose to import the value into registery.. alternatively you can create a new TXT file, copy the lines given below and paste it in the txt file. save it as *.reg file and double click it chose the import the value to the registery.... ________________________________________________________ Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Url History] "DaysToKeep"=dword:00000014 ________________________________________________________
Maybe the program starts on starup and erases all the history and cache and stored link. Check if the program is still working and check if it has been properly unstalled.
