How much Hosting Space Do I Need?

With so many hosting companies out there it's very hard to decided which company is the best choice. I undertand that many of the bigger companies oversell what you really need for your sites, but if I'm just starting out with a directory, what would be my minimun requirents as far as space, bandwith, etc.?

If it is a mysql based directory 1GB space should be safe along with 5GB bandwidth.

If you want to get a budget hosting. I suggest you go to Ecommastery
Pick the package RM50. RM5O a year is equivalent to $15USD a year.

For me.. that is the cheapest hosting I ever used

bentink is on point, directories don't need that much space, you need hundreds of thousands of inserted links for the database to even reach near 1gb of space used.

And as a starter, 5-10gb bandwidth would do, but as it grows and gets a bit more popular, you will have to upgrade and it is better to go with a non-overselling company because you know your limits and you know when you should upgrade without having to worry about passing the secret limit and then getting suspended without warning

    good luck

Only a small amount of web space should be needed. if you have no luck looking for a webhost then send me a PM and we could have a chat and we could adjust your plan if needed in the future.

Also you can visit the link in my SIG

You don't have to worry about having a lot of space make sure the host has mysql and php.

I'd imagine just about any entry level cPanel based shared hosting plan should suit your needs.

1G to 10G disk space it is enough for you.
For BW, 1G per day should be more than enough. So around 30G I assume.

Whichever host you choose at first go with the smallest plan. If you see that your site needs more space and bandwidth then go for that.

I suppose that he does know what he needs. But I agree with you - do not go with the huge one - get small one and pay less. You are allowed to migrate anytime you want ;)
    Good luck.
