I just posted my website at http://www.phpscriptinstallation.com for sale and somebody pointed out that my website has been mirrored at http://phpscriptinstall.blogspot.com and thinks that it is worth less because of repeat content. I believe the impostor is somebody off DP forums but there's no way of telling. Now because the content was indexed by Google on my website first, will my SEO be affected in any way? If I'm correct, the only website that will be penalize is the one that mirrored my website. If somebody can kindly make that remark on this thread I would appreciate. I've receive a couple of lower offers by people who believed that my content was repeat and is therefore worth less. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1195260
you are true at your end that the other website mirroring your website will be penalised........submit a complain to google about this........and if you have copywrite on your website then you will be more on the safer side........
Hmm, your SEO may not be affected, but your site may If there's a bad guy who try to rip your post without a backlink, right after you make a post, both can be affected
Since the mirror is at blogspot just report him to them and as long as you can show your content was up first they will ban the blog or ask the blogger to remove the offending text etc If you just click on the 'flag blog' top left of their blog and follow the instructions
Thanks for the advice but how do I prove the content was on my website first? The owner of the blog also appears to be from China who does not recognize intellectual property rights laws.
This is a crime someone doing with you! 1. Please use Alexa Archives to get the exact date. 2. Get the FTP info. 3. Signup with Google webmaster tool and report bad site. 4. Get a copy of DMCA and send seize and desist notice to webmaster. 5. Report to blogger, they will remove bad blogs. if all doesn't work, hire an attorney or pray that Google recognize the original owner of content. This is one sin where no one predict who is going to suffer. Sometimes bad site take advantage of innocent webmaster and trust me!! Google is HELPLESS to Identify the original website contents!
i c you have copywrite sign on your site. if your content is copywrited, then you can easily show proof to google and blogger. they will do the rest. also, google can tell when each site was indexed first so they have a way of telling which one is original
I'm on of the active member in entrecard and the top blog in this family "The Monkey Fables" is a good example for this problem. He takes contents from a blog dated years ago and did the same thing. His getting more than 700+ visits each day until blogger removed his site (his blog is under dot blogspot free domain). Try complain this to blogger.com and I'm sure you will get your value back. Also, check on google webmaster too.
