Not too bad if this is your first attempt at putting a site up.
There is a huge blank space that you need to get rid of.
Take a look at "things you should not do when you encounter a bear". I think you mean things you SHOULD do)

Bears in the wild are not in any way, shape, or form "docile" creatures when you encounter them in the woods. Get between a mother and her cub and you will see what I mean)

Yup, not too bad.
Later, you can play your top, left and right navigation.
Change them with image.
Usually work for me. If the basic design displayed properly on the browser, then I start to change top, left and right with image.

 

For the life of me, I can't seem to figure out how to get ride of that blank space, even went into the HTML code to see if there was one too many carriage returns, but saw just one </p>


You don't suppose there's something there that I don't see?

Well, the Florida Black Bear doesn't really mess with humans too much, but I do agree with you on the whole mother and cubs thing, it's game over right there.

Did you see that special on TV where the guy was living in the woods with the bears, his friggin wife and kids left him because he was kind of "off his rocker" if you know what I mean.

 

Naw, I missed that special. But without seeing or knowing his wife, I would have to think that maybe he has a good reason. Maybe she looks like a mule and is mean as a snake)

Did you do something to your site? The space is gone now. I'm using the same browser. Now at the very end, there is a little trash: [ad#ad-2][ad][ad#ad-2]
I didn't notice it before.

Its nice. But i think you can improve it

 

I think it is a good work in progress just like any site you will improve it over time

 

I liked it.. clean and easy to read, ads aren't overwhelming easy to surf

 

Normal blog. You can place a square adsense inside the article instead of middle column. You will get more clicks.
Consider to ad more content.

 

Does it have a banner?

 

Visually it's a bit boring for an endangered species blog. I really expected to see pictures of animals, or even some relation to any endangered species. However, I do like how you didn't choose too many different colors, and not too many different types of font either. You overall site is very simple. Great when your starting out, but once you've got that established, start adding in some elements to enhance the overall look.

Very simple, and you could invest in a header of some sort rather than the plain text.

 

Thanks guys, for the feedback. I'm just getting it started, think I might add a fish and wildlife logo and animals and such

I'm actually not only doing endangered species but threatened species as well...it's just "Endangered" is more peopular

 

Good and simple design. I think you need more contents and create the logo for this blog. I think it will help to make your site look more professional.
