I've used Godaddy quite a few times...seemed reliable and generally it starts at about $10 a month and up depending on what you need.

We use Hostgator and we haven't had a problem with it yet. They offer unlimited bandwidth and diskspace for 8.95/month (without a contract)
They are probably also the largest pure webhosting company.

Alrighty, as with ladies of the evening, you get what you pay for with web hosting.

There are wonderful 'deals' at various sites (bluehost and others I'm looking at you) but really, if it seems too good to be true, it is.

Hosting and bandwidth cost money. They cost the host money. There's no way around that. I'd rather have a host who was up front and honest, and allowed a measurable price, than one who promised unlimited space and relied only on their word to back it up.

I have used a number of different hosts over the past 5 years, and one of the absolute TOP web hosts during that entire period is GoDaddy. More recently, I've seen the 'too good to be true' hosts go down under strain (google the digg effect, or the slashdot effect) where GoDaddy and other respectable hosts are just fine.

Also, I've been more than impressed with the GoDaddy hosting connecton, truly one-click installs of wordpress and much more. Couldn't be easier, and this is coming from a guy who does his own wordpress installs and PHP hacking.

I highly recommend using Hostgator. Their support is extremely reliable. Their control panel uses Cpanel.
