75$ logo/tagline for a webdesign company

Okay I'll give the text a shot. I'm not thrilled about my typography skills. I spent one session in that class and dropped it from the shear horror I suffered discussing the differences between fonts. However, I want to win, so I will see what I can come up with. The pixel part I think I can do.

Okay here's my try with some text. I did my best for that web 2.0 look everyone eants these days and did a simplistic font as you seemed to prefer those So here's my shark with his magical suitcase full of pixels

 

This is just great, You impressed us with your shark. Changes I can think of are; Change the 'Shark' text to something simple, Or perhaps use the same font you used for 'pixel'. Use a normal/simple font for the tagline as well. That 'swoosh' like thing looks creative and attractive, but on the other hand.. it looks weird as well to me, They'd want to see a version without that as well, along with these changes I just told. thanks again for the great work!

 

The v2 is awesome! We all love the 'P bite'! Nice work. We'd want both part of the texts to be on one line, Level both the shark and the text so that they both are the same in size, almost same, the shark could be a bit bigger. Also, use a simpler font for typography, Use something like Zepia did.

 

Your mascot is done, don't change anything in it, we TOTALLY LOVE this one of yours. If the contest was a 'mascot-only' contest, we'd wrap up the contest and claim you as winner But we're looking for both mascot and text. So here's what you can do, Remove the web 2.0 shades off the text, plus the borders from it, as well as the border of the shark,... we don't like borders. And use a darker blue for pixel, and a very dark gray for 'shark'..


PS: A HINT FOR EVERYONE: Zepia's entry has a very nice typography and color combination which we love.


Allright, things are heating up. Updated standing tables and perhaps some general feedback will be provided as soon as the crew gets back to me.

Oh sorry about that shinan I missed your comment yesterday somehow.

I think I'm gonna have to pull out of this contest. I know you're leaning towards mine but it's only because of my mascot. I HATE doing typography so I'm going to stick to contests that are only for mascots as that is my specialty. Physa has a great entry and is one of those designers that is rare and is good at both the typography and the characters. That's not me. I'm so sorry, but, I just hate doing logos. I got excited about the mascot part but the text effects are the only thing making that logo look cool. Otherwise it's just regular old impact font and I don't have special fonts on my PC. This has been a fun contest, but it's down to where you cut the weak from the strong and unfortunately, I'm the weak, lol. I just hate text and I don't want to mess with it. The same thing happened in the body building contest. You guys have fun! If anyone wants any of the sharks that I've shown here separately PM me I'd be happy to sell any of them separately or in packs if you wish. I want to thank you for holding this contest and for personally inviting me to join but I'm just not a logo person! Call me for mascots! Thanks again! Good luck to everyone. There are some really great entries here.

Thanks cameo for your great words .. I personally love your mascots everywhre on dp wherever i see it so its better if you just don't pull yourself out of this contest .. Winning or losing is luck so if you want i can add text to your characters too
For sure you yourself got great skills and text is not a hard thing to do so you can try yourself too

@cameo,

if the CH so chooses, he/she can purchase your graphic and someone else's text separately. it's happened before. it'd be a waste to lose one of the few 100% original entrants around here.
