Im putting together an ad group that will target searches for a service within a city in the UK, will also be putting together others to target other cities in the UK. My question is if i set Location Targetting to: United Kingdom, London ENG Does my ad then only show to a person searching in London, or does it show for searchers in other parts of the UK looking for london random service Of course keywords permitting the ad to show etc... If a searcher is looking for london random service but searching from southampton and with my location targetting settings above, how would that affect the results?
It will still show as long as they include London. Google doesn't mention this feature (or at least I have never seen them mention it anywhere) and we discovered it by chance through a clients account. Would you be happy with that feature? Otherwise I can suggest an alternative to only have your ads show within London...
Google does actually mention this here: http://www.google.com/adwords/learningcenter/text/19159.html Specifically: So to the OP, YES, your ads will show if someone in Southhampton searches for "London random service".
Thanks SDunroe, yes thats the way i was hoping for it to work so il be happy with it working that way. Thanks for the link trishan, i should have looked there first, im pleased it can work that way.
