One thing I'm thinking about, if I decide to promote non-clickbank type products (meaning articles) and do more physical products, can I use the same type of review-style landing page? jehnidia, I'm sending you a PM.
I do very little adsense, i have it on a few sites but the money is in the affiliates imo. Unless you just have tons and tons of traffic...that doesnt buy stuff. I also would advise against doing ppc your first go around but good luck to you if you do. Put strict limits on your ppc spending especially when its bringing traffic that doesnt convert.
Yeah spending anything scares me, cheers for the info. Im going to try and stick with both more affiliate tho.
No, as I said earlier in the thread, I was making $250/day within 8 days of starting. Now I make much more and do very little work (though I admit those 8 days were spent very busy pushing my sites).
It's certainly possible if you really work hard and get some lucky breaks but to be honest I think that goal is a bit high for a newbie. But perhaps that's the way to do it. Shoot high and see what happens. Good Luck
Sounds good. I think having a separate blog focusing on articles about my product will be a good lead in to my landing page. And Ive decided to take my best product idea and run with it. I've done some researching on it and it seems to be a niche that is fairly unsaturated. As for spending, I realize I need to spend some money to learn the ropes so I'm not saying no to much at this moment. As time goes on I'll be a better judge of what I should and shouldn't need to spend money on. Yea I mean if it seems high then I guess I've got my work cut out for me.
I'm quite surprised that so many people think you can just jump in to making $250 a day (even after 3 months). I really wonder how many of the people here actually do make that, I suspect only 1 or 2. Of course anything is possible, but I bet you'd have to work pretty much all day and night of those 3 months to even get close to that figure. You should set more realistic goal of, say, a hundred dollars a day to begin with and keep that $250 figure in mind for the longer term. Very few people have what it takes to suddenly jump to making $90k a year after 3 months, it takes many people well over 3 years of experimenting and researching to get anywhere close to that. I'm all for setting targets but you will only disappoint yourself in the end if you don't reach it.
venturefox = correct. I think most of the comments here are a bit unrealistic and/or someone trying to sell something on the down low. That's a word of caution: Be wary of people who want to share with you their special "secret" (at a price of course.)
I hope that isn't directed toward me.. I don't have any special secrets. Ask the 50+ people who've PMed me this week asking for tips, every one of whom has gotten a unique and helpful response.
I appreciate the honesty. Perhaps I am being a little overzealous, however I'll still keep in mind that $250 a day would be very nice. 90k is a bit much for only months experience. I'll be sure to keep this in mind.
Good luck, hows it going so far? M aim is to be making £150 per month every month by August 2009 so I can afford to move abroad for a year with my girlfriend. Do you think this is possible without any outlay (apart from hosting and a few domains) and if so what would be the best way?
150 pounds per month (which is around $230 today) ? that's way too low even for 3rd world...are you serious ?
Not to live on! I have some monthly payments which have to be made even when/if I go abroad. If I can make £150 a month from the internet then that will cover that. Then I will have to get a job to pay for food and travelling etc. Obviously I'd like to make more than that but I think its good to be realistic. If I could make £150 a week I'd be very happy but I doubt many people make that much.
"If I could make £150 a week I'd be very happy but I doubt many people make that much." that's deadly wrong, many people make that much.
Im trying to shoot to make 100k at the end of this year but i cant see it happening to be honest but its a target and gives me something to aim for. No doubt ill just make myself pissed off for not reaching it lol.
Well having a full time job takes a lot of time so I devote most my day to work. Right now the only money I am planning on spending is on hosting (I have an unlimited-domain hosting account from Lunarpages) and domains. Then whatever fees I don't have a choice to pay. And yes I agree there a ton of people on here that probably make upwards of $100k yearly from IM. Hoping to be able to learn from their experience on this forum. So far, I've decided on my product(s) and am researching the best way to construct the landing pages. I'm finding whatever free templates there are, but still need to make my own mods. I spent a good half a day gathering affiliates for my products and need to go through them and compare offers and payouts and everything. Going to go hit the gym and then get to work.
