I had someone write an article for me on social media which I thought was going to be about promoting you website via myspace and face book and so on but it was about social bookmakreing. If I want an article on promoting you website thought myspace and the linke what would the topic be called or what would be a good keyword?
Well I'm baffled. Social media and promoting a website on myspace don't seem to me to be concepts that are particularly related to each other and I don't understand what you really want either. Something in your last sentence seems to be inquiring about a topic and keywords for a myspace promo, so try this title and these three keywords: Title - How to Promote a Website on Myspace Keywords - promote website myspace Have a nice day.
Myspace and similar sites are as much a part of social media as social bookmarking. If you want something specific to that area, it's called "social networking" - a branch of social media.
Sounds to me like you hired a writer who took a shortcut. Rather than writing what you asked for, they wrote you a generic essay about the topic. In the writer's defense, these are terms that people are using interchangeably which may have led to the confusion. On the other hand, I have had a number of clients who have complained that their previous writers wrote generic essays instead of the sales copy or how to article they asked for. I would strongly encourage you to search for several sentences in the article you were given. I would not be surprised if you found the entire article or parts of it posted on another site.
Well, while the writer should have tried to clarify, I don't think they're necessarily (completely) at fault on this one. The buyer admits they don't understand the difference between saying they want an article on "social media" versus "social networking." When you hire a writer, it's vital that you know exactly what you want (or you should be prepared to accept a rather wide range in pretty much any niche). In this case it's like the rectangle-square example: A square is always a rectangle, but a rectangle is not always a square. Here, social networking is always a part of social media, but "social media" doesn't always limit itself to social networking. That said, if the OP were very specific in their instructions of wanting something on Myspace and Facebook promotion, they should ask for a new article because they weren't given what they asked for. (Given that it seems the OP knew what they were expecting I would be pretty surprised if they didn't mention it.) If not, well, they're both at fault and at least it's a lesson learned for the future.
It's social networking you are wanting! Social media is more YouTube etc. Social networking is sites like Facebook, Twitter etc.
