Exactly Suman, and the people that say religious people kill the most are actually spreading disinformation because if they truely followed their own scriptures they would see the wisdom in the universal message of peace and love that it spreads in the world rather then the belief in nothing but the shallow, materialistic nature of someone that believes in only what they can see or touch. We are much more then this.:)

Are you sure you read my post right? You claimed that we should get rid of nukes and I said exactly what you just wrote - that no one is so innocent and there's always a possibility for a crazy person to come up and try and conquer the world.

Where did that 'Hitler wasn't a catholic' reference come out from? I never said Hitler was catholic, I said he was crazy, lol.

Yes "pingpong123", I agree with you. Complains out there, religious people kill the most. Actually those killers use the religion as a MASK to make their evil acts legal. Killing/crime is their profitable business. They can not survive without killing people. It gives them pride and power. Earthly desire and power make them blind. If they have actual belief in God and the day of judgment, they’d stay away. People in the Governments must have to realize it. They have the most responsibility. We should not follow the followers of the religion, we should follow the religion.

The circle of life has turned against the goods and few evil are ruling the earth and will probably continue to do so unless massive unrest amongst people explodes, only then long lasting peace will prevail.......but happening of this event is very minimal :(

This is definitely not a solution. As someone earlier mentioned, freedom is more important than peace.

Assuming all weapons on earth are destroyed and there is no military force, if some mad scientist comes up with a new deadly weapon, he would be the ruler of the world.

Sorry about the hitler post, but there has never been time in our nuclear era that we used nukes to give us freedom. On the contrary they put us on the brink of complete destruction, and i think the world is organized enough to defeat one lone crazy dictator if ever tried to acquire Nukes. Right now im sure a crazy guy can acquire them now as I have read online that the russian have some missing nuclear inventory . If we as a planet have better intentions of working on peace and stop trying to oppress each other then we wont need wars or nukes.

We must evolve as a species of we will destroy each other.

Jeremiah 9:11 "For with God, nothing shall be impossible." "Peace on earth to men of good will.
In the vastness of His creation, the earth is merely a very tiny dot in the sight of the Lord, to
maintain peace over all of it is "peanuts" for the Almighty Creator. But good will of everyone
is what is necessary to keep the peace that the Lord Jesus gave and left with us. All we have
to do is to live up to the teachings and principles of the Lord, work our faith, and abide by the
Lord God's most important command: "Love God with all your heart, mind, body and soul," and
the second commandment "Love your neighbor as thyself."

Matthew 10:34 - "I come not to bring peace, but to bring a sword"
Exodus 15:3 - "The lord is a man of war"

Sure there are quotes from the bible that can be picked if one wants to find condemnations of violence, But there also a few that can be selected if one wants to find justification for violence. So to be on the safe side, let's not look to the bible when trying figure out how to find peace and let's all start thinking for ourselves, using our own brains.

Well said! God indeed has given us our brains and free will to do what we
believe is right and necessary to find peace, and this wisdom and free will
will guide us to pick those teachings which specifically apply to our
needs, PEACE ON ALL THE EARTH, and although Matthew 10:34 and Exodus
15:3 do not depict an unjustly violent God, as they don't apply to our issue
of searching for peace, being on the safe side would be to not pick on
them. It becomes safe for us, therefore, to dwell on God's words like Matthew
5:9 "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God,"
and Galatians 5:22 " But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, PEACE, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith." P E A C E ...

The point is, The bible, and most other religious texts, can be used to justify most preconceived views and opinions and leaves the reader to cherry pick which ones they want, which in reality makes it a poor guide to anything. You obviously want world peace so focus on the verses that promote peace. But what if someone wants justification for violence? what verses will they look at, quote and adhere to? The same ones as you, Or the ones depicting god as a man of war and justifying violence?

To bring about peace we need to be able to reason with the people we disagree with, And we can't do that if the people we disagree with believe they have divine justification for their actions. Thus, religious teachings are not only not the solution to world peace, they are actually an obstacle to it.

I'd continue to encourage those that practice it, to reject Islam and its teachings. That's be a start.

To bring about peace, we have to look at things on a common ground, PEACE itself. Peace is non-violence, non-intrusion, non-aggression, understanding, love, compassion, "laissez faire". It is NOT greed, covetousness, hatred, selfishness, disrespect. If every opposing party could only sit down and talk about peace, no matter what the political or religious inclinations, all differences would be patched up and life would surely be
    rewarding for everyone of us. Put everything else aside, focus on PEACE;
sacrifice personal pride and honor, be humbled down if you may, but strive to attain PEACE.

Yeah of course, Lets look for peace. Let's keep religion out of it though and let's not look to ancient texts which rely heavily on interpretation as a guide to it.

To start with, we must start creating bit more tolerance and respect for others' faiths and religions. If you take that tone up, no matter how much reasonable u talk, most people aren't gonna listen to you.

Religion can be used as a big tool to create harmony and peace among people of different religions and origins. the basic teachings are same in Islam, Christianity, Judaism. None of them allow killing of innocents, and all promote peace. Infact the basic reason why there is no peace in the world is that people have stopped following their religions in the essence.

There is no point in staying hungry, if one does not realizes the theme of fasting. Same goes for other practices.

Best solution is freedom and later, the finish of hunger, greed and curse
