Why are webmaster stats off?

    Hi,

I started a new website (http://www.how-to-travel-the-world.com) a few months back and google began to rank me highly for a number of keywords that I wanted (go me!!!) until about last week, I suddenly ended up not ranking for anyone of them. (BTW, Should I be worried about that? I was told I was just sandboxed).

BUT google webmaster stats still has me ranking high for those keywords, even though when I go to look, my website is no where to be found.

How come google hasn't changed the webmaster stats? will they? should i ever believe webmaster stats? they never seem to be right.

Unless you were doing something fishy and your site is penalized, these might just be temporary glitches in google's data centers. You can also check your rank in other google tlds.

    Shail,

What could account for the sudden ranking and then the sudden drop off?

I see this happening often, don't worry about it. It sounds like your site is till new. Your site is still under a year old, and if the keywords are very competitive you can't expect to stay on top. Try to get links on travel related sites. Article submissions in IMO is only good for traffic, related links is the better option if you want to get and stay in the top 10.

I also have tourism sites, and the travel niche is very competitive just keep it up.

    Hello,

This was happened due to your link popularity and also due to your keywords competition, If you want to rank again on the same keywords then you can start quality link building like that directory submission, article submission, blog posting, press release submission and also try to quality link exchange.

I m sure that If you can do things that you must be get your rank on the same keywords

    Thanks

Just build quality links and in no time you'll see your website rank again with your keywords.. :)

Note: Always target authority sites.
