Is This Too Good To Be True?

Ok. Here's what I need. Tell me if I am asking for too much or if it's possible. And where i can get it.

I need a website. I have a domain. I want to build the website but I don't know design. I want to be able to build a list from my website. So here's what I need ideally

    Free hosting.
A website builder (that is kind of fast. I find godaddy's websitetonight to be sooooo slow)

    And hopefully, no ads.
And, hopefully the website won't come out looking all cheap and deter my traffic.

If not free hosting, then very cheap hosting, but i don't know how to build the website beacause I don't know coding or anything like that. and I only have like 10.00 to spend if I had to spend it. And i want the website tonight....
So. Am I asking for too much. Do you know someone giving away all of this stuff? do you use something that is better than website tonight?

well people give out free hosting all the time on the freebies section and you can download some free templates that'll save you from coding your own, $10 isn't anything really though.

Do free templates make a website look cheap?

    1. Are you asking too much? Yes.

    2. You need a website but don't know design. This leaves you one option. You will have to use a WYSIWYG editor of some sort. Kompozer is a good one and is easy to use. The problem you will have is that you don't know html or web design so you will also need a template, probably a free one. There are tons of them out there as some other folks have pointed out. The problem is that many of them do not work very well with the WYSIWYG programs. But, I think you really don't want to build a website. If all you are looking to do is build a list, you just need a landing page. Building a one page lander is possible to do in a day without previous experience.

    3. Free Hosting - There are some real nice folks here in DP that have offered free hosting to members without the advertisements. Check out the Free Market place threads. I think I saw a few in there today that might help you.

    4. Anything is better than Website Tonight. To be fair though, all host driven website builders are slow. It's just the nature of the beast:)

    5. Cheap hosting is easy to get. The only time I would recommend using free hosting is if you are putting up a personal website that you don't care about. If it is a website that might have potential, or you want to keep around, don't go the free route.

You need all this tonite? Nope..I don't think it is possible or even reasonable:)
Even if you lucked out, found a template that you could use with Kompozer, you would still need to:

    a. Go back to where you purchased your domain name and point it to your web hosts DNS servers.

    b. Figure out how to get your site from your PC to your web host.

    c. Get and set up your autoresponder for your list.

    d. Validate your site and check all links to ensure they work.

Now, none of the above are hard, but if you have never done it before, it will take you some time. Probably longer then by tonite:)

    Hope this helps,
    Zeek

I'm a little bit confused here:

    1. You don't have the smallest idea how to create a website.
    2. You can't afford a domain name.
    3. You can't afford a hosting package.

Why do you need a website anyway?

If you would like to experiment - try Blogger :)

    Duplicate double post = FAIL

And back on topic, you could use some hosting such as zymic.com, which provides a free subdomain and hosting, if you are looking to cut down on money spent. Then you could download KompoZer and find a free template online, then add your content from there.

Hey you have to invest some money to create a website, if you don't like to invest money you can go for blogger but it's not your own site, i mean it's not your property.

So spend some money to get domain name and hosting, so that you don't need to know the coding and all.

By the way, what kind of website would you like to create?? Blog or forum like. .

    Thanks

Are you looking to promote products?

Because in that case, you can simply use a free blog.

You still need hosting, but you could set up a word press blog today, and choose from thousands of free templates and pug ins for additional functions that are all free.

Can you do it by tonight ? Probably not since you don't know anything at all and have never even looked.

Could someone else do it for you by tonight ? Yes, but you will have to pay them and a rush job won't be cheap.

To answer your question, Are you being unrealistic to expect this quick and cheap ?

Of course you are ! :)
