In France, the nearest "foreign country", it's 15. 16 is right for the UK and is what British people are used to and think of as normal. 15 is right for France and is what French people are used to and think of as normal. I see from your post that you think 18 is "right". There are very few countries where that's the law. But you're just as entitled to your attitude and belief as anyone else is, and I respect that. But that doesn't make you right and every other country wrong. This is all I'm saying.
I was not projecting my values. I was stating the facts as they are in the US. Several states have set the age of consent at 14 as long as both are under 18. Some enforce a 2 year differential rule between the two parties.
