I had a site that ended up with a PR2 within a couple of months. It was a smaller niche site, with only about 15 pages. I didn't do a lot of promoting, so I'm not quite sure how I got that PR. But it didn't really bring in as much traffic as you'd think. I didn't see a lot more traffic once it hit PR2 than I did before.

PR means nothing more than Google knows your site exists. PR doesn't pay the rent, doesn't ensure ranking. Quite worrying about it. Focus on making something useful and figuring out how to convert your traffic into something useful.

    Only Noobs worry about PR.

    Dear Probo1,

My website achieved a PR of 3 within 2 moths after the launching of the site. the interesting thing is that i didn't do any off-page optimization of the website. but in the next PR update it was decreased to 1! actually i didn't touch it at all. therefore i would suggest you to continue the SEO work on your site.

A PR1 after 4 months isn't all that uncommon. It basically means that Google knows your site exists but doesn't think it's that great (remember, PR10 is the best). Keep working on it and you can raise your PR very easily. :)

Congratulations!! Keep up the good work and maintain consistency in building more relevant back links. To be frank, PR doesn't really mean nothing, if you're not receiving any sales/leads. Reason, I've seen websites with good PR struggling to get more leads. If we view the scenario in the sales point of view, we've to agree the fact of PR would not mean anything. According to this scenario, SERP is the major target and concern to get the sale done for any online Business.

    Congrats Probo1
What is the basic concept behind getting site on top in most popular search engines in short time. As I know link building is key concept but what are other things should be done to get site on top in short time.

Focus on quality content for your and more importantly the people doing searches and you will see your page rank increase.

Remember though that page rank does not always equate to higher listings in search results.

^^ Dude, are you seriously that naive or just pretending :)

PR1 is not bad for a start, actually it's nothing more than a start. Though, if you can achieve this number (#1) in Alexa ranking, you'd be da man ;)

Google rates the sites with PageRank(PR)

PR scales from 1 to 10

PR1: Least possible recognition that your blog exists within Google's indexed content.
PR9 and PR10: Exceptional sites like google.com, yahoo.com, adobe.com with lots and lots of popularity and backlinks.

So , PR1 is a starter, not the end of PR cycle. If you had a PR1 after 2 months or 4 months, then its fine. Because my blog in the sig, got PR3 after 3 months of posting the articles and submitting it to social networks and social bookmarking sites.

You need to work hard and you will get a good PR.

Now, stop worrying about PR and start working on posting quality content and generating backlinks.

    :)
