I am interested to know what SEO companies have been submitting to your director(ies). I've been getting a lot of submissions from them as of late and I think its a good idea if we can compare notes so as to make the industry more "presentable" to such companies in the future. So what are the companies that submit to yours?
Client information is confidential information. I wonder how many more submits you will see from these companies when they find out you are posting their names on public forums.
Sounds like you are looking to solicit business from other directories clients. Folks here are not that ignorant and your not the first person to try this. Good business ethics are one of the necessities of any quality business.
Well they don't visit DP for a start. The directory owners getting good submissions from SEO companies either professionally contacted the companies themselves or were probably found via the search engines.
Part of my directories are getting regular submission from seo companies, You will notice that the link is submitted for big company such as hp.com.
Not a good idea at all for anyone to share such information. Revealing private business dealings between you and a client is a guaranteed way to make sure they never use your services again.
Umm, OK I think I phrased that question rather badly. I wasn't going to find out who your clients are. I should have asked how do you attract SEO companies to submit to your directory? Lately I have been getting a good load of submissions from these type of companies but I think it can be better. So how did the SEO compan(ies) that submit to you find out about you?
How about getting feedback from the current SEO company clients you have and replicating that to work better.
imo the SEO companies would select the the directories depend on the price (first), quality and then the reliability. as i know they usually submit for basic listing only.
I know two SEO companies that regularly submit to my directories. Of course, it is not right to disclose their information on a forum (or even in private). However, for what its worth, I never went after them. They usually find good directories themselves. As a rule of thumb if you have to go around finding advertisers, your site is not good enough (there are always exceptions). Make a great directory and wait for them to come to you, or know them personally before asking them for their money. Your first email to them should never be "come submit to my directory at a discounted rate".
Remember one thing, let people come to you rather than chasing them down, as this will just waste your valuable time
If you have sufficient cached pages showing up in keyword searches they do for client’s websites they will come to you. Advertising in popular webmaster newsletters and other quality webmaster resources will also be beneficial. The marketing industry as a whole is in a very slow period right now and it could last for quite some time.
If you plan to stay longer in this industry, do the advertising consistently. Just like stoner said, advertising industry is in a very slow period and people who take action faster will get better place.
