generally I leave this option unclicked but what has been your guys results with this option clicked? lower quality traffic? lower conversions?
I don't know where I've seen it, but I do remember seeing a guru's video that does adsense to uncheck it. I think it might have to do with not having your ads appear in less credible sites. I think.
Yes lower quality traffic than Google is generally the reason sited for not using search partners. I'd imagine the traffic is fairly low from search partners for those using this option?
Normally I get lower traffic from the search partner, but I really can't say that the quality of the traffic is lower or the conversion from the search partner is worse...It also depends on how you put the keywords and other work for your campaign.
Ive been wondering about this too, i was going to use googles search partners during my first campaign but i maybe wont now.
I'd personally advice you to try it for 1-2 weeks as with all of the Adwords features. Different things work for different accounts and you can never say something doesn't work for you until you try it. We don't allow that risk though for our clients though and always uncheck the box, but if you have the budget and are willing to try then go for it.
It probably depends on your niche. For jewellery the impressions on search partners is about 4 times greater than on Google alone but the CTR and conversion rate is much lower. CPC can vary tremendously from keyword to keyword but, because you cannot bid seperately (from Google search), you have little control,e.g. Keyword A bid 0.20 average position on Google 20th ave. pos. on search partners 3rd Keyword B bid 0.20 ....................''.................. 5th ...............''........................ 15th In order to get some control I have split my account into various campaigns some with search partners enabled and some without. Generally I would say for branding and loose generic terms you want to advertise on the search network, anything more specific I stick just to Google now. Again from my own market for example, I advertize my brand and terms like "Bali silver jewellery", etc. on the search partner network but more specific terms for bracelets, rings, pendants, etc I only advertize on Google now. Again it depends on your market, but there are some high traffic sites on the search network like Ebay that can yield plenty of traffic to your site. In general, however, my feeling is that the search network is more likely to yield "browsers" and impulse clicks rather than true customers.
We have around 20 clients - all of which are on Google and Search Partners. When the option to split out was first introduced, we were excited about being able to weed out campaigns that didnt work on Search Partners. However, we found that there were only a few adgroups out of our entire client base that performed significantly worse on Search Partners than on Google. The traffic levels were different, but the conversion rates rarely were.
I have to disagree. The CTR may be lower but my conversion rates are actually pretty good. It just depends on your niche I guess.
It depends on your offer. The key is testing and tracking EVERYTHING, the offer, the ads, the keywords, landing pages and the sources of traffic.
@pipes Most of my clients' conversion rates were the same on both. There were about 3 that had worse conversion rates and when looking into why, we found the adverts were generally appearing in mid positions on Google - but in solid 1 on search partners. Therefore, we had good conversion rates on Google but bad on search partners. Perhaps we were solid 1 on search partners because most of you on here turn off search partners lol...
