How hard is it to install new ram and a new processor on your computer?

I just purchased an additional 2GB of ram for my computer and I'm considering on buying a new processor. How hard is it to install this stuff on my computer? Also, will an Intel Dual Core processor install on any computer or just on certain ones? I currently have an AMD Sempron 3000+ installed on my computer.

Even for the processor? Also, if I'm correct you just have to slip the ram into the available slots. Is that all you have to do for the ram or is there more to the process?

Aye, the RAM is easy... processor can be a little tougher because of clips and such.

And be careful not to cut your fingers on the heat sink!

Installing a new CPU can be a bit tricky since there is the possibility of you cracking it like what happened to my AMD Duron processor. Ram is easy, just make sure the power cord is unplugged from your PC, just in case.

How do I figure out whether the processor I just showed you is compatible with my computer? And if it is, can I still use the same ram chips? I already ordered those chips and they should be coming in the mail soon.

Installing RAM is easy, as long as you have the right kind. Installing a processor isn't so difficulty, but you have to be careful with the heatsink/fan and you need to get the right kind of processor (with the right pin structure) for your PC. Here's a basic guide:

    Installing the CPU and RAM

You need to read the documentation that comes with the motherboard, or pc. It will specifically show what components it's compatible with.

It's just easy to put in a new ram. Processor is a bit complicated though. Just remember to read your pc specifications first before putting in or removing a ram.

ram installation is very easu , just open your cpu and loog for the available slot, just insert your ram plate in the slot and about processor , don't take risk about it, if you are new then there is good chance that you will break the locks of fans above the processor once it break you willl loose your processor or you need to buy to the new fan for your processor , highly recommended don;t take risk in installation of processor. i tried it and loose the fan and intel original fan is not easily available

I don't know about processors but ram you just pop in there. Just be sure to "ground" yourself to there's no static or the chip might fry...

Installing RAM is simple, but the processor may give you some trouble -- I've never installed one, though.

It's easy for experienced people, but if you don't know what you're doing better ask someone. You should check if your motherboard supports this CPU and RAM type that you want to install.
