Oh ok must have just been me with a fault free ME I thought it was quite good. is linux even able to play any games. for eg. battlefield 2?
I have just read my message above again and where it says "requires Windows" it should say requires Windows XP, otherwise it dont really make much sence does it? Basicly it depends some will work on certain distros and others wont. Best option with Linux is to have a dual boot so you can use Linux for certain stuff and anything you carnt do with Linux just use the Windows XP boot option. Looks like it works on Wine for starters. http://appdb.winehq.org/appview.php?appId=2424
Aren't we going away from the topic. I know person who had this pirated window warning message everytime he boots his pc. But strangely he laughs at it. He doesn't really care about it! And why shud he care? To some it it's shame to have that message. But for others, it's just another dialog box that appears which can't be of much nuisance to anyone. None of my friends have a licenced copy of windows. I have one! Now when i speak about this to them, i feel like a fool. Just wanted to ask, whether the person who has the licenced copy...a fool? or one who owns each and every pirated s/w is a fool?
Just been over at my Mums this afternoon. She'd been sent some .doc files and couldn't open them. Being elderly and not wanting to do word processing she has the standard install of Works but not Office. So, up pops a window saying you need to run the install CDs or the software is going to go into reduced functionality mode. Cool, do it! but no, repeated requests for the CD until finally it concedes defeat and lets us in. And no way to say "stop the charade, we want reduced functionality". Hell, the woman doesn't know how to reply to an email, word processing will never be a requirement.
Yes M.E was the bigegst crap Microsoft ever released!!! Win 98 SE is much more stable than than ME. XP SP 2 is there best release ever!!! next comes Windows 2000! ..:: peace ::.. Jeba
I agree XP SP2 is not that bad. For something from MS you could actually call it good. It hardly ever crashes “amazing†and is “decently†fast. The only thing I had to do was take down them funky icons and glittering crap in order for it to perform normally.
I can see this message ( get geniune windows version) on my frenz PC i have pirated version too but i dont see that message in my comp
run the update and it will install it onto the computer. It depends on your CD-KEY if its a Mass used key u will get deemed as a pirate. but if you borrowed your mates u will probbaly get verified as a legit user.
Hello Chris its jus pirated we know, because it is used hundreds of times so it wont' really affect after windows update.. still i'll try to do so if that helps Thanx for your advise
Well I just bought my new laptop with Windows XP sp 2 so I’m going to get rid of my normal pc. 100% original software for me.
Im not going to start complimenting which version of windows i think is great because every time i note how good something is in life it all goes pete tong, il just settle with saying that i started with M.E and noticed a substantial improvement with XP
It wasnt advice It was more of if you want to see if you have a pirated copy deemed by m$ the update will tell you. Personally I would not recomend updating but you can always try. search google if it has that anoying error message for a fix.
Windows...windows. Nope, not ringing any bells . {returns to my mandriva linux OS, which I installed over top of the legal Windows XP that came preinstalled on my Dell}
Well... seeing as im to poor to buy anything, most of everything i have is priated... But... I dont have to worry about much besides keeping good ties with people who know ASM and me not losing my CD with the Bluelist Keygen on it
I told about this warning message to few of my friends. I asked them to better get rid of Pirated copy or else face the shame. All i got in reply was: What shame? And to be true, they're rite. What shame wud they face if they have an illegal copy and all they have to do is, close the warning message every time they boot up their pc's. It's just a negligible thing that takes a second of their time just to cancel it. Then what shame will people face by that?
Wow Excellent message, it would just float in through the Automatic updates, I am sure the people who have started receiving it would be having a fun time IT
What makes it funny? Is it cool to have a pirated copy and all such warning message everytime u start your pc or is it hall of shame?
